Last week I was at the 19th Peach State Star Gaze, held at the Deerlick Astronomy Village or DAV. On Friday I gave a talk on Lunar Geology for the Solar System Symposium. And imaged all manner of deep sky objects during the mostly clear night skies. For starters, here's a pretty little spiral galaxy. NGC 6946 in Northern Cygnus. The Pacman Nebula - or NGC 281. May 11th, 2011 at 7:16 PM. I've been having some thoughts about the upcoming Apocalypse. Specifically ways in which we can avoid it. I have a few ideas that might do it. The Apocalypse will happen at 6 pm in each time zone (Pretty eneffable huh? And since time zones are artificial constructs , we can easily manipulate them in the following ways. Jul 1st, 2010 at 10:49 PM. I've cobbled together a mounting system for the Austin. It will need to be prettied up a little and attached to the body. I didn't have the appropriate adhesive (hello JB Weld.) at the space so that will have to wait till another day. It sits at just about the right height and I can adjust with washers if necessary.
