Meandering Midwife

Saturday, June 22, 2013. This is not my story. I am simply a vessel, a way for a story to be told. I am merely a fragment of the story which I pray I can find the right words to tell. It's a story of violence, anger, sadness, loss, strength, pride, love and faith all at once. Graves at genocide memorial. Outside walkway and bedrooms. The orphanage at Kimisagara. Wednesday, January 23, 2013. And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears,. Get over your hill and see what you find there,. I hav...

Meandering Midwife: December 2012

http://www.meanderingmidwife.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 2, 2012. And there's reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last. Adam Duritz. Now before I get started, I would like to acknowledge that many others have suffered great losses, homes and jobs. My struggles are mine alone and by no means do I mean to compare or belittle anyone else in their personal experiences. I am merely grateful that my hard won lessons were learned without extreme damage to my family, especially my children. Would they be alright?

Meandering Midwife: February 2011

Sunday, February 27, 2011. If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me,. Threatening the life it belongs to" Anna Nalick. It's the eve of my birthday. I am pensive today, feeling quiet and somewhat withdrawn. It's not the aging that is nagging at my mind.it's the history. I am sitting here thinking of my mother and wondering if 37 years ago today she was having signs of my impending arrival. I wonder what was going through her mind. Was she excited or scared? I also find importance in not ...

Meandering Midwife: A Family Affair

http://www.meanderingmidwife.blogspot.com/2011/12/family-affair.html

Sunday, December 11, 2011. Dear Baby Girl,. I have grown very fond of your mother and your siblings, as they were able to come to a few prenatal visits. I did not get to know your Dad very well until your birth day, but I can tell he is an awesome father. Now let's talk about that special day. As I placed you on your mother's abdomen, you were enveloped by eager arms and hands. So much love and joy. Happy Birthday Lucy, you are one lucky little girl. As always, this was written with permission.

The Flippant Perfectionist: December 2011

http://flippantperfectionist.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Random ramblings of thoughts and opinions that just can't seem to stay put in my head. Monday, December 12, 2011. This morning on the Today show, there was a wonderful story about the small town of Phillipsburg Montana. It was a feel good piece about how the town came together to help the school administrator and his daughter when they both had cancer. The scenery, of course, made me homesick, but the story made me proud. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Other ramblings I find interesting.

Random ramblings of thoughts and opinions that just can't seem to stay put in my head. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. College is closing in around me. Of course he doesn't, none of us did. Or we thought we did and then changed our minds a million times. So I was going to go with another tactic, the FUN of college! Then I though Oh Hell No! I can't hype up the fun of college or else he'll go thinking its a party and flunk out! That his parents will still be around all the time and tell him what to do?

For those of you who don't know her.this is the way she thinks, in a nutshell (pun intended). Me - "Thats a bunch of fat squirrels.". Daughter - "Watch what you say, Mom. Its a meeting of the squirrel mafia.". Me - "Trouble in squirrel world? Me- "Should we do something? July 5, 2011 at 6:12 PM. Very true Miss Dayna!

http://flippantperfectionist.blogspot.com/2011/08/senior-itis.html

Random ramblings of thoughts and opinions that just can't seem to stay put in my head. Friday, August 26, 2011. Our son, Hayden, is a senior this year. We knew it would happen. They go to school for a certain number of years and eventually you hit their senior year. I also knew it would be expensive. I had done some research about senior pictures and what the average senior party/graduation would cost. I thought I was prepared. I thought I had SOME idea. I was wrong. Yearbook Senior Ad: $300. Random ramblings of thoughts and opinions that just can't seem to stay put in my head. Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Dan Radcliffe was on Jon Stewart yesterday. Yes he was promoting Potter but that isn't what my blog is about. No really.it isn't. I'm serious! It was something he said that actually caught my attention. He was asked by Jon if he ever has to fake being excited about something, if he ever got "over" the excitement of things as many Hollywood people do. He said no. See for yourself. Daughter - "I'm...

http://flippantperfectionist.blogspot.com/2011/07/birthday-month.html

Random ramblings of thoughts and opinions that just can't seem to stay put in my head. Friday, July 1, 2011. Today is July 1, 2011. In 19 days I will be 39 years old. Excuse my language but how the FUCK did that happen? I type the number and even the numbers look old. 39. Wow. July 5, 2011 at 2:25 PM. I love the idea of celebrating yourself. It is concept that I think more people need to embrace. Dont wait for someone else to tell you how special you are, it is okay to tell yourself!

The Flippant Perfectionist: Our kitten is trying to kill me...

http://flippantperfectionist.blogspot.com/2011/11/our-kitten-is-trying-to-kill-me.html

Random ramblings of thoughts and opinions that just can't seem to stay put in my head. Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Our kitten is trying to kill me. In May we adopted a sweet little kitten who had been abandoned by her mother. We named her Rachel (goes well with our dogs names, Kevin and Megan) and she was perfect. Tiny little thing that fit in the palm of your hand. She loved cuddles, kisses and adored us. Then, just like children, she grew up a bit and turned into a teenager. Voyages of the Artemis.

The Flippant Perfectionist: November 2010

http://flippantperfectionist.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Random ramblings of thoughts and opinions that just can't seem to stay put in my head. Monday, November 15, 2010. Not just a little bit, I loved it A LOT! That frog lived on my bed until, when I was 15, our new puppy decided to use it as a chew toy and it had to be thrown away as it was completely ruined. I was heartbroken. I've always remembered that Christmas very clearly because it was such a great present. Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Same concept for politicians. As they move up the food chain of ...

A place for me to ponder eclectic thoughts, capture motivational moments, and share my journey. Things That Inspire Me. March 30, 2016. Last June, I wrote down some thoughts for a journal, just to write. I shared the thoughts with a friend who thought it would be beneficial for others to read and that it would be good for me to share the thoughts further. It wasn’t just thoughts though, it turned into a whole essay. I shared it with a friend who manages a site. I submitted it to The Lutheran. I’m g...

Van rambling with a cat, an artist and a musician. Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Perhaps the intimate space is getting to us. Although we're thoroughly enjoying life on the road - freedom, creativity, change and meeting lots of new people - we are missing Orkney. Everything's fairly hectic down here and so many people, cars, shiney lights and things - so many things! Back in Central Scotland. But good to see the Ochil Hills again. Sunday, December 7, 2008. October 29th, 2011. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I write this post. On October 18th, 2011, at 7:15 in the morning, Jeff’s mom— Judith Elaine Forslund. Passed away. She had been fighting a huge battle with Lung Cancer over the last two years and sadly, it was the cancer that took her away from us here on Earth. She was 75 years old. Judy, I miss you. I loved that you really embraced your Napa community. You were involved in so many things in your neighborhood and I loved that. I loved that tri...
