Often Wrong Never In Doubt. The life and times of a child vagabond. Saturday, July 26, 2008. The Keeper Of The Crypt. There is a place in the back garden at my parents house which might someday be a wonder to archeologists. It's full of bones from dead animals. Rabbits. Dogs. Cats. Birds. Gerbils. Hamsters. A few dozen goldfish. And at least one possum. There were a lot of things I learned growing up in that house, but maybe one of the more important lessons (if you were an animal anyway) was to watch wh...

Wednesday, March 28, 2012. 10 Things I Like : Volume 002. We live in an amazing area for fresh seafood, with some pretty substantial fleets anchored in our area. The Lobster House is still probably the best place to go for a large selection of fresh merchandise. But if you know the right people, you can buy it directly from the fishermen themselves. You’ll never taste anything like it. Over the phone] It's a bad connection so I'm gonna talk fast! The guy you're looking for is an ex-commando! Summertime m...

Often Wrong Never In Doubt. The life and times of a child vagabond. Monday, December 26, 2005. A Paine In The House. A Genius In The Closet. When I was in grade school, we had a genius who lived in my closet and smelled of garlic. He lived on the third floor of our house, slept at odd hours of the day, and kept his mail in our cereal cabinet. It's a credit to my absolute belief in the normalcy of my family, that I didn't find this strange in the least. What," I'd say. Who the hell was that?

Often Wrong Never In Doubt. The life and times of a child vagabond. Sunday, January 30, 2005. It certainly wasn't the last time my parents would be summoned to a school of mine, but it might have been the first. I was in the first grade at Clegern Elementary School in Edmond, Oklahoma and my parents had just gotten a call from my teacher. It seems there was a problem with their son, and she wanted to talk about it with them. I don't understand the problem," my mother said. Better Put Your Name On It.

Often Wrong Never In Doubt. The life and times of a child vagabond. Sunday, February 06, 2005. The Great Earphone Experiment. There we are, three of us, sitting in front of the TV enjoying our show, with not a sound coming from the TV speaker. I picture my father sitting proudly behind us, admiring his work and basking in the sound of silence. It was one of my father's great experiments. We wanted to watch cartoons, and he didn't want to have to hear it. Solution: earphones. Lots of them.

Sunday, February 19, 2012. Cape May Organic Market. This morning I drove down to Cape May to check out a new Organic food market that literally opened it's doors for the first time this past Thursday. Technically, they haven't even had their grand opening, as they are still waiting for a lot of their products to come in. So this was more a preview. The Cape May Organic Market is the product of Tai and Julie Menz. Tai is the chef at Aleathea’s at the Inn of Cape May. Links to this post.
