Jackie Summers: January 2012

January 25, 2012. Winter 1974 or The Night The Moon Fell. The events in this story are true. On a cold winter night back in 1974 a group of kids set out on a daring mission. To investigate the odd neighbors that have taken up residency in their neighborhood. I am the only one I know of that has written the tale. It was just your typical weekend winter evening; at least that's what our parents thought! That fall new neighbors had moved in across the street from them. They told us they often heard loud cha...

Jackie Summers: March 2012

March 30, 2012. What's for dinner.certainly not me. Not that I'm not a tasty little dish.Well, leftovers. Always better the second time around- You knew that of course! I really didn't want to write about dinner, not in the sense of food. I really wanted to write about life. What eats you? We all have them- those blood thirsty pangs of brain eating thoughts. The Why's, and How's, of yesterdays food for fodder. Unlike chewing 28 times before swallowing, you gnash on them for days. Why do we do it? I think...

Jackie Summers: December 2011
http://jackiesummers2u.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
December 28, 2011. I was shivering walking home in the dark and now alone. Whatever was I thinking? Going out with him to celebrate some damn stupid Halloween Festival! I had imagined sipping hot cider with a cinnamon stick and seeing scarecrows made up into different figures, like the ones back home on the town common. Every year there is a new theme and the folk's at home really get into the spirit of it all. With paper jack o lanterns strung in the tree branches and hot cider and candy apples. Jackie ...

June 18, 2012. The Monster In Your House". Since the beginning of time, before Adam and Eve, before Pagan Gods, monsters have existed in our houses. They live hideously behind closed curtains, preying on the subconscious mind of it’s inhabitants. Like generations before, a testament of it’s DNA clinging to the very existence of mankind. Woe to the narcissist that does not see it. Pity to the martyr that does. Peace to those that have forced to eradicate it. Luckily for me.You keep yours under lock an...

Jackie Summers: February 2012
http://jackiesummers2u.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
February 27, 2012. An excerpt from: Stories My Mother Told Me. Just a little something I did for homework. You're a very bad girl Ann! No Mamma, don’t make me go down there, you know I’m afraid of the dark! It stinks of mustiness,". Ann said, choking back her tears. Surely it had to be the dead people. Where the dead people live. It was cold and clammy in the cellar, fear tingled her spine, something touched her leg and she began sobbing again. A voice from above screamed out;. She decided it was not saf...

April 24, 2012. When I was a little girl, I was afraid of thunder storms. I guess I never did outgrow them. At one time I thought I did. I remember standing outside on a second story open air porch watching lightening streak across the sky. Mom also told us all that rolling thunder was God playing ten pin. Really.did anyone ever believe there was a bowling alley in the heavens? Now there are two exceptions I find comforting brought about by storms. The first- is a rainbow. Photo, courtesy of google.

November 30, 2011. My dishes are not done,. There's laundry in the loo,. The carpets full of crumbs,. And there's dusting here to do. Some say a house is loved. When all these things are done,. I say a house is not a home,. If the rooms aren't cluttered up. Of course some say it's laziness,. Just excuses for idle hands,. Who are they to condemn. They're not holding the dustpan! Ive better things to do today. Than wonder at the mess,. It's not like I've company,. Who cares if I'm not dressed! All sharing ...
