mona paints moving figures: March 2009
http://monajonescordell.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2009. In her blog, painter, Karin Jurick. Recently talked about how working on a small painting is a break from the more challenging work on a large canvas. I find the same kind of relief with windows that I often put on my large pieces. The one on this canvas in progress may or may not stay in the composition but it has served the purpose of a relaxing distraction. . Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Our Paintings teach Us. mona paints moving figures: July 2010
http://monajonescordell.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 29, 2010. NEW LINES ON OLD PAINTING CAN BE FUN. I have been pestered by a canvas I started over a year ago. The painting is from notes taken from James Canfield 's choreography last summer. Actually it is several blogs back from this one. The gesture of the female figure on the left did not work in this composition . On a studio errand yesterday the image of the figure that I needed came to me. When back in the studio she went down onto the canvas in a matter of seconds.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010. The update on my project for combining sports movement gestures and dance gestures is still in the stage of making use of the wonderful works at North West Dance Project. http://monajonescordell.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 16, 2011. GOING , GOING, GONE! It seems the figure I was working on evolved right off the canvas. Many times! It took two days of push and pull to get myself warmed up to letting go of calculations and pestering questions about right and wrong. This morning I walked in painted off the old efforts and simply put down the lines that do not carry a burden of pre conceived ideas. Tomorrow looks promising. Wednesday, March 9, 2011. A Peek in the Kettle: Michael Orwick
http://melodyaa.blogspot.com/2015/02/michael-orwick.html
Friday, February 06, 2015. For years I have admired Michael Orwick's paintings. I discovered him in Cannon Beach. Imagine my astonishment when I learned that he was teaching classes every week only 30 min from my house for $20/ drop in! I could not believe it. I have gone to about 6 classes now and my mind is blown. I have always thought of myself as a painter, but how can one paint without knowing any basic skills? I feel so blessed!
