After witnessing his father's suicide at the impressionable age of fifteen, the author experienced many years of guilt, shame and fear with countless thoughts of suicide which finally resulted in the manifestation of physical disease. Living in a miserable emotional and physical state for so long led him to seek out ways of discovering the means to liberate himself from his haunting past and the ensuing physical deterioration.
