Confessions of a Geek: April 2012
http://dansimp.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Confessions of a Geek. Tuesday, April 24, 2012. The Grapes of Wrath * * (out of five). Sunday, April 8, 2012. The Catcher in the Rye (No Rating). So, before I picked up The Catcher in the Rye, my only real knowledge of the book is that it is one of the most banned books of all time. It is also often a required book in High School, however, I wasn't ever asked to read it through school. I give it no rating, I can't truly judge the work in its entirety when I haven't read it. Confessions of a Geek: November 2012
http://dansimp.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Confessions of a Geek. Thursday, November 29, 2012. Why do we do it? Now, there is probably some hyperbole, or remembering things the way I want to remember them involved in that telling, but I recount it not for its accuracy, but as an example of my bigger point. Why do we, as a people, fight more to win then to be right? A couple of the most significant quotes, for me. Have we who have taken upon us the name of Christ slipped unknowingly into patterns of slander, evil speaking, and bitter stereotyping?

Confessions of a Geek: August 2011
http://dansimp.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Confessions of a Geek. Friday, August 12, 2011. So, I can only speak for myself, but when its been a while since I've read Tolkien, I seem to forget just how good a writer he is. Its easy to remember that his stories are awesome, but just how good the prose is, wow. I'll give you a couple examples I came across while reading The Two Towers on the train. I particularly liked this one. Anyway. There's a little Tolkien for you, what a great author. That is all. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Utah, United States.

Confessions of a Geek: July 2011
http://dansimp.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Confessions of a Geek. Thursday, July 28, 2011. When did compromise become a bad word. Why is it considered traitorous to enter into negotiations where give and take brings you to a middle ground? Sunday, July 17, 2011. By Will Allen Dromgoole (1860-1934). An old man, going a lone highway,. Came at the evening cold and gray. To a chasm vast and deep and wide. Through which was flowing a sullen tide. The old man crossed in the twilight dim;. The rapids held no fears for him. Good friend, I am building thi...

Confessions of a Geek. Friday, July 2, 2010. A Modest Proposal (but no baby eating). So, I was asked what I would do about Illegal Immigration so I'll lay it out here. I'm more than happy to entertain suggestions, but from all of the thought I have given it, I've come up with the following. (In the spirit of disclosure, not all of the ideas are mine, but I take what I like and run with it). This takes care of all of the problems I have heard associated with illegal immigration. Taxes are now paid, th...

Confessions of a Geek. Sunday, November 29, 2009. Two wrongs don't make a right. But, this does not mean that all wrong things are wrong to the same degree. Let me explain. Now, how does this all pertain to Max Hall's comments? No, he was out of line. He should be, and will be reprimanded by the league, and the school. Anyway, the end result is this, the whole rivalry is getting stupid. And its being pumped up by media, and stupid fans. But the obscenity, the vulgarity, and the vitriol has to lay...For t...
