Mollie's Follies - Midwest Girl meets Southeast Asia

Mollie's Follies - Midwest Girl meets Southeast Asia. Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Final Weeks in Singapore. As I write this post, I am on the plane home somewhere over Canada and about 3.5 hours away from landing in Chicago. Fortunately, my travels so far have been uneventful. It’s hard to believe my 5.5 months in SE Asia has already come to a close. However, my last few weeks in Singapore were wonderful. I only had a few things on my To Do and See list, so I wasn’t in a panic to cram it all in. So I ordered...

Mollie's Follies - Midwest Girl meets Southeast Asia. Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Mom and Dad's Visit! So sorry for the long delay between my posts….time is going by so quickly. It’s hard to believe my parents’ visit has already come and gone, and I will be flying back to the U.S. for a visit next Thursday. Words cannot express how excited I was to see Mom and Dad. The Singapore Marriott is a lovely hotel and their table had a great view of the beautiful tree lined Scotts Road. Thankfully I had arranged for ...

Mollie's Follies - Midwest Girl meets Southeast Asia. Thursday, June 23, 2011. A week of laughter.vacationing in Singapore with Mark and Janet. What a fantastic week with Mark and Janet. I am not sure that I’ll even be able to do it justice in this blog, but I’ll certainly try. When I came home from work on Tuesday (the 7. Mark and Janet were at my apartment. They had an interesting day of exploring Orchard Road and making their way around my neighborhood. Http:/ www.iflysingapore.com/. This video is a p...

Mollie's Follies - Midwest Girl meets Southeast Asia. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. St Patrick's and Vietnam 3/17 - 3/20. Thursday night was St. Patrick’s Day and the start of one my favorite weekends of the year. Typically I celebrate the Irish day and then take vacation for the first two days of the NCAA tourney. Obviously this year was not going to be the same, but I was able to get into the spirit with a pint of Guinness at the Dubliner. They had a good band, but sadly played no Irish music. In 1964, a ...

McLean Family Scrapbook: July 2011

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 21, 2011. A little of this, A little of that, oh, and bubble olympics! Here we have our superstar (as you will see in the video I hope to post tomorrow), Morgan Kennedy McLean.star swimmer of the summer of 2011! She had a ball, throwing her face in the water at any and all moments possible. Pretending to dive in from the stairs (though they looked more like belly flops! It was great though and she was awesome! And Connor, well, Connor is just great! Thursday, July 14, 2011. FirstSo, Maddie...

McLean Family Scrapbook: September 2011

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 27, 2011. So we made a list this morning while waiting for the bus of "Morgan's Questions for the Bone Doctor." On it was, "Can I ride my bike? I asked if she wanted to add "playground" to that list, but she said she's already doing that, so why would she ask. Valid point, though, probably not best to share with the doctor (since that was on the no-no list! Morgan got her cast off today! Oh - and did I mention there was cake at the doctors - that ALWAYS helps! Ready, Set, K2! Her teach...

McLean Family Scrapbook: July 2012

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 1, 2012. Last week Kevin and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. It's hard to believe. Boy, we were young! As I look back at that day, there is one thing I would have done differently. If I had the boisterous personality of my children (or my siblings for that matter), I would have given a speech at the wedding thanking everyone for coming, from us, personally. To let each and every person who was there know how much you mean to us. And I predict there won't be for the next 10 either! Busy bu...

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 17, 2012. I couldn't be more excited to start summer. It was a tough end of the school year and I'm so looking forward to time with the kids! We just signed up to become members (again) of the zoo and Children's museum - so come rain or shine - we should have at least one thing to do! Above: Last day of K2. Below: Heading to first golf lesson. There was no one else there, but Connor! Above/Below: Just "Maddie being Maddie! Oh Lord, I love that girl! He loves to climb - has recently learned h...

McLean Family Scrapbook: Year in Review

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2013/07/year-in-review.html

Sunday, July 14, 2013. 2103 has been quite a year for the McLean Family. Morgan has finished up first grade and will be going into second grade in the Fall. She has played a slew of different sports throughout the year and continues to love to try them all. She has done very well in her Irish Step Dancing, placing 2 first places, 1 second place and 1 third in her final Feis of the year. Connor has a personality all his own - he's complete boy and that's just so fun for us! Where the red hair comes from!

McLean Family Scrapbook: Happy New Year!!

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2013/01/happy-new-year.html

Thursday, January 3, 2013. Christmas and New Years - as usual - must have gone by in "ludicrous" speed.yes, I took that from Spaceballs (the movie)! Ryan, Ali, Luke, Nolan and Uncle Bob all came on from DC to spend the week with us. Auntie Annie came from South Boston. It was filled with lots of laughs, memories and lots of time for cousins to catch up and play. And it wouldn't be Christmas without a visit to the Kennedy's of West Roxbury for a fun and crazy gathering of family. We hope you all had a won...

McLean Family Scrapbook: August 2011

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 24, 2011. The view from the deck in the back of the house was too tough to take! The Cape Cod canal is one busy place.just ask Maddie - she has A LOT of ships going through! Every sailboat, ship and everything in between was "my boat" as Maddie would say! The back of the house. Connor and Luke meet again.just the boys hanging out! Just chilling with Uncle Bob! Luke and his Boogie Monster legs! I'm pretty sure the above pict is dessert time! My beautiful red-headed beach bums! Connor was...

McLean Family Scrapbook: January 2012

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 7, 2012. Please see Sprague Family Drama (Kevin's sisters blog) to see pictures and the whole adventure of Christmas in Seattle from start to finish! I only will add that the kids were amazing on the plane and amazing adjusting to the time change. Future world travelers, I think! Also, Connor figured out how to crawl while we were in Poulsbo! He tried a lot at home, but never quite got the hang of it, so it was quite exciting to see him do it for everyone! And Happy New Year!

McLean Family Scrapbook: September 2012

http://mcleanfamilyscrapbook.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 22, 2012. Yes, it's that time of year again! Fall has officially begun and I must say I'm excited! Around here, school is not the only thing that's begun. so has soccer, swim lessons, Irish Step Dancing, and school for the first time for Connor and once again for Maddie. They both love it and have adjusted well! Right now it's only spelling, math worksheets, but she's reading on her own - Judy Moody Gets Famous. It's going to be a great (and busy) fall! 3 days a week - of soccer!

Mollie's Garden

A blog about organic gardening in western North Carolina. What it's all about. Ten years ago, my husband and I moved to our home in Weaverville. This blog is to communicate with other gardeners, both novice and veteran, who share this same passion and love for farming. I hope for this to be a place where we can share knowledge and learn from each other. It is March in the south and all the seed catalogues. Have been put away, the days of dreaming and longing are over, it is time to garden! Moving raspber...
