Building A Life: Butterflies and Friends (and a baby)
http://sr-squared.blogspot.com/2015/07/butterflies-and-friends-and-baby.html
Sunday, July 12, 2015. Butterflies and Friends (and a baby). So happy to see her best friend from Kindergarten - very sad they have different teachers for first grade . Teddy was happy to see her too :). The whole crew of butterflies (minus a few little brothers). Catching 'butterflies' - the air was so heavy and humid that the balloons did not stay afloat very well, but I think the kids still had fun. Lucky to have family join us for the day too. More crafts - making Eric Carle inspired butterflies.

Building A Life: June 2015
http://sr-squared.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 21, 2015. We hosted a Father's Day/Baby Reveal Party at our home on Father's day this year and had so much fun celebrating both all of the dads as well as Brandon and Mary's soon-to-be baby. The baby reveal was first. Boy' was the overwhelming guess by the guests. The old wives weren't much help this time around. Can you see the sparkles in the air? Brandon and Mary will be evening up the grand kid count by adding our third boy. Another great dad eagerly awaiting the arrival of his third.

Building A Life: November 2014
http://sr-squared.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 04, 2014. White chocolate covered marshmallows. The girls LOVE playing little legos and Millie will happily build away down in the basement for hours, so this was the perfect party choice for her. Scott's lego men - that's batman there on the right :). Setting the scene for a 7th birthday party. See - healthy lego people too! Coloring lego self-portraits (which I forgot to send home with the kids.). Lego heads every where! Millie's friends from school - they look sweet don't they? He go...

Building A Life: Love of Reading
http://sr-squared.blogspot.com/2015/07/love-of-reading.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. When Millie was in kindergarten, I worked the fall book fair at the school. While I was working, I noticed that a lot of kids were buying this book:. I didn't know anything about it, but the kids seemed enthusiastic and excited about reading it, so I bought it to read to Millie. She LOVED it. (side note, it's written by one of the 'kids' from Glee . I was skeptical after learning that, but he is actually a good author! I'd say she was pretty happy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Building A Life: September 2014
http://sr-squared.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 28, 2014. Getting harnessed up. I wouldn't normally post pictures of myself in this attire, with. A harness on, but this picture cracks me up :). Learning the 'ropes' on the ground - again, I wouldn't normally post pictures of myself in such an outfit, but I'm clearly having such a good time. So, focus on the smile and not the rest, please :). The first set of obstacles just to get us started and comfortable . Then it was on to set number two for the real thing! Ha ha - yeah, right!

Building A Life: January 2015
http://sr-squared.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 05, 2015. Millie at bedtime tonight (while discussing how hard it is to go to sleep without me now that she has a bunk bed): "You are my happiness" Sigh. I almost unbunked the beds right there ;). She was also amazed to learn that when I was a baby/child I went to sleep by myself. "You mean you just lied down and went to sleep? That is unheard of in our house ;). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Notes from the Journey. Next door to Normal. Healthy Child Healthy World asked for simple tips - so.

Building A Life: March 2015
http://sr-squared.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Merrill and I enjoyed a somewhat soggy and muddy field trip to a local nature center today with her class. The kids had fun tromping through the mud and exploring different habitats. We didn't see any animals, but the kids did find a collection of deer bones (that I suspect were 'planted' in the woods by the center's volunteers). The mud at least made it easy to find animal tracks. Saturday, March 07, 2015. Making bubbles with dry ice. We got to do some train watching too! Our sc...

Building A Life: May 2015
http://sr-squared.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Ready to ride - we've got the 5 hour drive down pretty well now. The rainy weather meant there was lots of time to play inside. Extreme Fetch - Teddy is about to launch 5 balls for Hazel to get. A trip to the Farmer's Market was a favorite activity - especially since it involved donuts. a rare treat around here. A trip to our favorite Chicago bookstore - somehow we always leave with a LOT of books. Like me, Merrill gets a bit overwhelmed with all of the choices. And another school y...
