Moments in Macro Blog. I am in Brazil for about 5 weeks for class, research, work, and pleasure. I have been in Rio for about 2 weeks with plans to visit Bahia and Minas Gerais states as well. Here is a sampling of all the beauty around me: beaches, favelas, rain forests, cobbled streets, cathedrals, and chope (beer)…always chope. Enjoy! I went to a club last night (Saturday Jul 30) and did not shake my normal tail feather as I was recovering from tummy troubles, but still had a blast. He did a 2 hour set without stopping. We left at 2:30am and he was still going strong. I would have been a sweaty mess on any other night…the dance floor was packed and throbbing! Note the very African influence… it was home. An afternoon at the beach.
