http://teresarichardswrites.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Word weaver. Story spinner. Writer. Back to Author Website. Thursday, December 19, 2013. In the meantime, I'm devouring all the books I found myself starting but unable to focus on when my fingers were itching to finish telling my story. Finding a balance between time spent reading and time spent writing has always been really hard for me to do. So here is my pledge: I will not start editing until my kids go back to school in January. If I break this pledge, may my fingers fall off one by one until I...

Word weaver. Story spinner. Writer. Back to Author Website. Sunday, April 6, 2014. Finding the Perfect CP. But I realized I needed feedback from other writers- ones who had faced the same writerly issues and would be brutally honest with me. Something in my novel wasn't working and I needed practiced eyes to help me see what. Well," she replied instead, "you should really try to find some. I think they could help you out.". It never hurts to ask. One of the first critiquing groups I found was a local wri...

Teresa Richards: September 2013
http://teresarichardswrites.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Word weaver. Story spinner. Writer. Back to Author Website. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Getting to Know Your Characters. Today I had a heart-to-heart. Not with my husband, or with my mom. No, this was a heart-to-heart of another kind. As in, it was entirely one-sided. To begin, I asked my two main characters and my five key supporting characters what they were most afraid of. And what makes them happy. Then I asked them to tell me one thing they always wanted to do but never had the courage. Now that I'...

Word weaver. Story spinner. Writer. Back to Author Website. Monday, June 2, 2014. All Voice and No Heart. Emotionally connecting your reader to your characters is the single most important thing you can do as a writer. Or so I've heard. But what about voice? They're all super important, right?
