Mom in Madison: April 2011
http://mominmadison.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. The weather outside has been frightful! We have been cozy inside, busily crafting and making, drinking warm lemonade, baking things. Trying to keep warm and energize ourselves even in the face of dark wet days and freezing temps. I also have many trays of things I started which I usually direct sow but with the temps am holding off on (I tried some things, but no germination). If I get a few weeks inside I can have a head start when it finally warms up! Trays of herbs are growin...

Mom in Madison: August 2011
http://mominmadison.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 28, 2011. Oh glorious Sunday. A day of not too hot, not too humid, blue skies, sunny and breezy. Just perfect to spend just about every moment outside. We started off with an early morning park visit for swinging and spinning and being silly. And then of course playing with neighbor friends in the yard/alley. And then a nice walk at the botanical garden to see . everything. Fountains and reflections and water bugs. And pom pom flowers bigger than a kids head. ;). Ice and good cheese. The b...

Mom in Madison: October 2011
http://mominmadison.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 30, 2011. My kind of saturday night. I love the cooler nights, the early darkness. The boys play with friends in the alley - running in the dusk, bundled and rosy cheeked. The parents holding steaming mugs of tea or cocoa. We found marshmallows, graham crackers, skewers. The neighbors came over and all the boys roasted the insanely huge marshmallows and A counted how many times he could light his on fire. Ahem. A grabbed his guitar, because strumming around a fire is just what you do.

Mom in Madison: September 2011

Monday, September 26, 2011. Fun science at home. One of those endlessly fun things is the cornstarch project. You mix water and corn starch. You might want to cover your table with something. First try to hit the mixture with your knuckles quickly. Next, gently press your fingers or hand into it. Goo is a long time of fun. Another easy and fun one is making a lemon battery. Take a lemon and push while you roll it on the counter to get it juicy inside. Straighten a paper clip and stick it in the lemon...

Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Three Strikes →. August 25, 2009. H&M, the farmer’s market, and our favorite Thai restaurant. Patiently (grin) let her practice driving a manual car– but I will readily admit that she did better than I did, first starting out. We had fun. It was a great week. Bonus points if you can guess which pictures are from the zoo and which picture is from DH’s work. 🙂. Into these three rooms. May sound we...
