This past weekend we left the boat in Annapolis for a little tlc and to go to Cape Hatteras for a week of kiteboarding and to enjoy living in a house again. Adventures of Mor' Childs Play. A First-Time Sailing Journey to the Caribbean. Saturday, June 16, 2012. Just a quick note to say that we officially made it home today. Dad was unable to sleep last night and decided to cast off from Oswego at 4 am, so we arrived in Kingston just after noon! A quick hello to friends and relatives later we packed the car and headed home to Ottawa. It feels a little strange to not be returning to the boat tonight, but refreshing to start the next chapter in all our lives.

Notre passion de la voile. Mardi 26 juin 2012. 19 juin, Kanata, ON : Retour à la réalité. Nous sommes arrivés en terre canadienne, plus précisément à Main Duck Island, la fin de semaine dernière. Nos amis de la Jeannoise et l’équipage de Maximo Alejandro nous y attendaient. Ce fut de belles retrouvailles qui ont mis un peu de baume sur la fin de notre belle aventure. Nous étions réellement bien sur Raftan malgré les aléas de la vie de navigateurs et d’itinérance. Nous aimions ce rythme et ce style de vie.

Nous sommes arrivés à New York à 6h30, ce matin, heureusement que la lueur du soleil apparaît à 5hrs car le port de New York est plutôt achalandé! Il s'agissait de notre dernière journée en mer et puisque cela m'attristait un peu, dame nature s'est chargée, à nouveau, de m'aider à l'accepter. Hier, après l'école, ce fut une journée père et fils, ils sont allés explorer le parc national Cabrits et le fort Shirley, ils y ont fait tous les sentiers de randonnées. Pendant ce temps, maman a pu en profiter pour réaorganiser les armoires et faire cuire le gâteau de fête de Rafaël.
