Wednesday, August 12, 2009. This summer has been a crazy one. I made some decisions rather fast, and don't regret them one bit! In June, after months of doing the gym thing 5 days a week, sometimes 2 hrs. each day, I made an appointment with my doctor to find out why I was not losing any weight, and hardly any inches. Thursday, September 3, 2009. Braxton is 5 now! He celebrated with a pizza and movie party with his friends from the neighborhood and school. Was that a crazy day or what? Too many kids, too little adults to handle them! He was spoiled rotten with gifts and attention, and even with the food. He had cupcakes to serve and the pizza didn't last long. Miko and Brian came up and helped with the kids, and let's just say, the kids won! All in all it was a funtabulous day for my little man! Last Day of Preschool!

Friday, February 12, 2010. Inspiring, yet sad week. This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions, at our household. Sunday night, around half time of the super bowl, my dad noticed a firetruck 3 houses up. As I sat thinking, " I hope it is not Christi" my feeling went away, as she had CONQUERED breast cancer, so I thought. Apparently, it had spread to her spine and lungs, leaving her bedridden, and spending months at a time in the hospital. How did I not know this? Braxton plays with her two boys.

Keep that chin up, keep smiling and try and just forget about them till they come around if that ever happens. Black Bean and Cabbage Stew. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 large onion, chopped. 1 leek, chopped. 3 garlic cloves, minced. 2 tablespoons chopped fresh marjoram or thyme. 1 1/4 lbs. potatoes, coarsely chopped. 14 oz can black beans. 3 1/2 cups low-sodium vegetable stock. 6 oz cabbage or scallions, shredded. 1 Heat oil in a large saucepan. Add onion and leek and sauté for 3 minutes. Add garlic and paprika and continue to sauté for 2 minutes. Total Fat 9 g.

Friday, May 22, 2009. Protein and snack bars! If you are trying to get healthier, and lose some weight and add muscle, these two products can help.
