Strange and Curious Things: Happy Halloween!
http://strangeandcuriousthings.blogspot.com/2016/10/happy-halloween.html
Strange and Curious Things. Musings of a newbie speculative fiction writer and bibliophile. Oct 31, 2016. As Halloween falls on a Monday this year, we had our party on Saturday. I made blackberry-cranberry punch with red grapefruit slices. (Blood orange would have been even better, but I couldn't find one.) I like to make the punch non-alcoholic and let people spike their own glass if they want to. Kraken rum was great in this. The other bottle's Monkey 47, Schwarzwald gin from Germany. So that's my Hall...

Strange and Curious Things: Terra Incognita
http://strangeandcuriousthings.blogspot.com/2017/01/terra-incognita.html
Strange and Curious Things. Musings of a newbie speculative fiction writer and bibliophile. Jan 4, 2017. Reading non-fiction books is a great way to find story ideas, and Atlas Obscura. Here are a few pages from the book. Some of my favourites included learning about a device that uses leeches to predict the weather, strange delicacies like the eggs boiled in the urine of young boys, and monks who try to embalm themselves. I also picked up these. You can never have too many atlases, right? To Defend and ...

Strange and Curious Things: Loot Crate: Speed
http://strangeandcuriousthings.blogspot.com/2016/10/loot-crate-speed.html
Strange and Curious Things. Musings of a newbie speculative fiction writer and bibliophile. Oct 2, 2016. Here's September's Loot Crate. The theme was "speed.". The T-shirt was Iron Man themed. Not my favourite Iron Man shirt, but pretty cool. I liked this Batwing key chain, but the edges of the detail on top are so sharp I think I'll have to think of another use for it. This is my favourite: the Cylon raider Scar from Battlestar Galactica. There was also an Arrow. Hello, stranger. Whats on your mind?

Need a break from the Trumpocalypse? Me too. Here are three very strange French films to help you take a vacation from reality.
