Thursday, May 19, 2011. Not a Track Star. The Saturday before track started, Christina suited up in workout clothes, borrowed my old running shoes, and said, "I'll be right back. I'm going to 'take a run.'" I scratched my head and chuckled. And she was off. After a couple weeks of track I asked Christina what event she was doing. She answered, "The 100. I can't run very far." Again, I'm taken aback. I don't know any sprinters in our pedigree. Not one. "Any other events? Is there anything you'd change?

Friday, June 25, 2010. Our 2010 Family Summer Reading Challenge. Was so much fun we're revisiting the challenge this summer, yet tweaking it a bit. Christina and Thomas will. Their school summer reading books (including looking up new vocab). Grace and Caroline will write up short book reports for 10 books. We'll stick to the goal of reading. 100 books by August 31. We're still discussing our reward. Beach day? Kimball's Farm- ice-cream and bumper boats? I love our book discussions! Ramona Quimby, Age 8.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011. If you click on "YouTube" you can opt to watch it on You Tube full screen. Some of the sledding was on ice, which made for fast sledding and brutal bumps on the way down.Examples: Thomas' 1st run (he's got the ski mask on), Grace and I catching air (my derrière was bruised after that ride, which I did in my pj's), and Caroline spinning on the orange saucer. SO fun! From the footage: I did spare the few brawls over sleds, and a few tears (see Caroline's face plant toward the end).

Thursday, May 5, 2011. Personal Progress and Honor Bee tracking. The board is from Staples and the cork board was covered in burlap and painted with turquoise stripes. Fun "atta girl! Decorations were added. I serve with some very ladies! Brand New Personal Progress board. With blank cards for each YW. Zooming out, this is the YW wall where we have our calendar, who is conducting, flyers, and just like the New Era, we've got a section for "Instant Messages" or inspirational thoughts. What a great idea!

Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Birthday dinner was LOBSTER and chicken for the lobster haters. Thomas' cake was a basketball with Oreo "Fun Stix" holding the candles, and crushed Oreos around the side of the cake. It was all yummy!
