Researchers back in Iceland. Lab members Alicia Parrish and Kaylin Smith arrived in Reykjavik, Iceland this week to collect more EEG data for a new project on nominal compounds. Work on Icelandic compounds published in Brain and Language. The lab's collaborative work with the University of Iceland. Will appear in the September issue of Brain and Language. MSU Neurolinguistics at SLRF 2014. Drew Trotter presented his work "Tracking perceptual change in second language learners of Spanish using EEG" at the 33rd Second Language Research Forum. At the University of South Carolina in Columbia. This project uses the mismatch negativity to look for changes in the perception of L1 and L2 contrasts as L2 experience grows.
