Book chat and reviews. Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith. Jun 10th, 2009 at 11:08 PM. In terms of characterisations, Leo and Raisa are both well crafted and I found that the development of their relationship moved me deeply. Overall an excellent book that explores the daily horrors of life in a dictatorship alongside its central theme of seeking to bring a child killer to justice. On a side note, the cover art on both hardback and paperback is superb capturing a strong sense of the stark themes within the novel.

The Red Queen (Cousin's War 02) by Philippa Gregory (2010) - S&S Book Talk

Book chat and reviews. The Red Queen (Cousin's War 02) by Philippa Gregory (2010). Aug 20th, 2010 at 9:29 AM. In the second novel in this series about the Wars of the Roses, Philippa Gregory switches her focus from the House of York to the House of Lancaster and specifically to Margaret Beaufort, the mother of Henry Tudor, later Henry VII. Gregory handles battle scenes well. I've seen the re-enactment at Bosworth Fields a few times and she really brought it to life on the page. Simon and Schuster UK.

August 24th, 2011. There may be a reason why only few people used Semagic on Mac: WINE needed Xcode to be installed. It is 4GB in size. I installed it but then standard instructions did not work for me and Semagic was not working. Also I installed Winebottler but it did not install ie6 which is required for WYSIWYG editor. Then I found PlayOnMac. And it seem to work just as on Linux. PlayOnMac. This text is written by Semagic running on OSX Lion in WYSIWYG mode. Screenshot (uploaded from Mac):. After som...

The Other Queen by Philippa Gregory, 2008. This is my first posting to this community as I only just discovered it. I am quite fond of historical fiction, including historical murder mysteries! I recently read Philippa Gregory's fictional biography The Other Queen. I had expected this would be similar to The Other Boleyn Girl. Which I read last year ( reviewed here. TV series. It was clear though from the start of The Other Queen. That Gregory had changed her style. Post a new comment. Post a new comment.

Book chat and reviews. A Darkness Forged in Fire (Book One of the Iron Elves) by Chris Evans. May 3rd, 2009 at 4:07 PM. This was one of the first books that Ally sent to me for review and it was some time before I settled down to read it, which I did last month. This first volume in the trilogy is mainly concerned with the journey across country with the new regiment and the battle for the Star. S Aughra: very down-to-earth and wiser than she seems. Knonwa too was an intriguing protagonist and one I ...
