The unresolute resolution. →. Wednesday, January 8, 14. Last year I was introduced to weight training. Before that I had done a little bit with Jillian Michael's videos but I'm not really sure that counts as the most weight I picked up was 10lbs and I never really touched a barbell before. Plus as a runner we don't realize how much we are wearing down our joints and depleting our muscles, by strength training we are working on our flexibility and mobility. It's not just about lifting heavy ...Address nev...

A mini 2014 update →. Wednesday, January 8, 14. What does all that mean and how does it translate in my head? It means I want to complete my unfinished 2013 goals. 1) Become a Personal Trainer: well I did that now I want to continue to work on it and transition from shadowing to training. I feel like I'm close! 4) Finish all the books I started in 2013 and there's a lot of them! I'm trying to focus more on nonfiction. My first two are fitness books. View all posts by Erika →. Your PR isn’t worth tripping me. Good riddance 2013 →. Wednesday, July 25, 12. Summer is in full swing here in upstate NY and so is my training running schedule. I’ve been asked a lot lately about running and why i stick with it. i’ve learned over the years if i don’t enjoy something im not gonna stay with it and despite popular belief some people do actually like to run… even long distance🙂 so here’s a list of my favs:. 3) pre-run eat: multigrain blueberry muffins made with greek yogurt and egg whites.

Renaissance: Languages of Loooooove
http://renaissancejs.blogspot.com/2012/03/languages-of-loooooove.html
Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Right now at church we're in this series called " The Language of Love. It's based on Dr. Gary Chapman's bestselling book " The 5 Love Languages. When I read this book about 5 years ago, it really blew my mind. Somehow I had gone through life with the idea that everyone either was like me, or should be trying to be like me. Not sure how that happened, but as you can probably imagine, life didn't let me retain the point of view too far into adulthood. So if you're feeling up to it...
Renaissance: December 2012
http://renaissancejs.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 13, 2012. That came to mind as we are preparing for last week's sermon on Skepticism. I had a couple ideas of how this might look as a video. This was actually my "plan B" for the visual, but I really like the way it turned out. I'll save the "plan A" concept for another piece, I guess. I made the puzzle here. Shot the video with the 5D (thank you, Rhonda Ballard/ Sinatra. For being so perfect in one take! Thursday, December 13, 2012. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Renaissance: The Hardest Part
http://renaissancejs.blogspot.com/2011/08/hardest-part.html
Saturday, August 27, 2011. But as I said, that's the part that hurts so bad. It hurts to see someone you love making choices that you know will scar them at the very least, and have the potential. To destroy them and people around them. You can talk to them. You can try to get through to them. You can come along side them. You can do all that stuff and still have to stand by and bite your lip and wipe your eyes as they plunge ahead. Besides, you can radio me while I'm up there if you're so worried. K?
Renaissance: The War is Over
http://renaissancejs.blogspot.com/2011/05/not-four-more-years.html
Thursday, May 26, 2011. The War is Over. Four years. It's an entire presidential term. An entire college career. It's the space that Olympians have to wait for another shot. For some people, four years can be an eternity. For others, I'm sure it flies by. Yesterday marked a four-year anniversary for me. Not one that I celebrated, or even commemorated, but one that I'm keenly aware of. Now, finally, after all this time, I feel like I'm at peace. V-J(eff) day! Now I'm not rolling out a big huge banner that...
Renaissance: What do we do now?
http://renaissancejs.blogspot.com/2012/11/what-do-we-do-now.html
Wednesday, November 7, 2012. What do we do now? Well it's finally over. Poor Abbey. Can at last get back to happy days filled with less Bronco and more Diego :). Today I posted on FB that "If we Christians cared more about people's souls than we did the election, THEN we would see real change." I want to elaborate on that just a bit. So what if that actually happened? What would that "real change" look like? First, think about what Christians are called to do and be. Seriously. Look at your words obj...

Perpetual Ramblings: wondering...
http://perpetualramblings.blogspot.com/2013/01/wondering.html
Sunday, January 13, 2013. Ever wonder why you do the same thing over and over and you KNOW it's not gonna end well, but you still do it. I always wonder what that is. Immediate gratification? Refusal to admit you are wrong so you hang on even tighter. I wish I knew exactly what it was that allowed myself and others to hang out to the very thing that is detrimental to their hearts and minds. Everyone seems to do it in one way or another, hanging on. Hanging on so tight. Not knowing when to let go.

Perpetual Ramblings: Being Great
http://perpetualramblings.blogspot.com/2013/05/being-great.html
Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Being Great. We all want to be great at something. We look at those who can fill arenas because of their music, we look at artists who are so famous we would die if we were in their presence. We admire amazing public speakers, we may be in complete admiration of someone we know in our own life, I mean THEY are great. We seldom recognize the ways we can be great. He emphasized being great. Being great at holding hands. Being great at making someone's day. Being great at calling home.

Perpetual Ramblings: May 2012
http://perpetualramblings.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 26, 2012. I am not even sure that makes sense BUT today was actually awesome! Boys went fishing with some friends, I stained 3.37% of the back deck before I ran out and the store didn't have ANYMORE! I accidentally went to a few garage sales and therefore had to text Gregg to stop at 191 main st on his way home to pick up furniture. The funny thing is.he didn't even ask why. he knew. he always knows :) I also bought Maple cotton candy - delish. Situating some family frames. Not a good photo.

Perpetual Ramblings: December 2011
http://perpetualramblings.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 18, 2011. Ok, so the morality code of this movie was suspect. BUT, this scene was my favorite. It was all of about 30 seconds, but I loved the artwork. For a girl whose heart was broken, but still believed in fairy tales, came a gift from the boy who was her friend and commissioned her a "fairy tale" street painting - to make sure she kept believing. There is a reason the new show " Once Upon A Time. PS- if anyone wants to photograph me like this (photoshop required! Once upon a time.

Perpetual Ramblings: December 2012
http://perpetualramblings.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 31, 2012. If someone were to describe me, I am pretty sure introverted and homebody would not be the words they use. However, I think it would surprise more people than not that there are many times a shyness or an insecurity takes over that results in me being quiet in front of people or wishing to just stay home on my couch. Did you know that when I coach and I have to stand there in front of 17 adolescent girls it still makes my stomach churn? I say this because I often have people te...

Musings of a mughal. Reflect, Reaffirm, Repeat. April 4, 2017. By Musings of a mughal. Strengths Based Leadership Development @lifelflowbalance #WomenEd. When I attended the #WomenEd lead meet event in Coventry on 11th March 2017, I knew that I would learn a lot but coming across Charmaine Roche’s brilliant Strengths Based Approach to Leadership Development was indeed a revelation. Unrealised strengths need to be maximised and are the ones required to reach your goals and for career development and advan...

Wednesday, 15 August 2012. Karl Marx had said years ago that “Reason has always existed, but not always in reasonable form”. Looking at how much we have learned from our past mistakes, I think that his words will be true for many years to come. Monday, 12 December 2011. If there was no God? Where did santa claus come from? That was my best argument for believing in God.I was amazed by the sheer ignorance and lack of logic plaguing the atheist. Tuesday, 11 October 2011. Afterlife and 72 Virgins. Him : Yes...
