Morgan's Musings: Miscellany about Morgan

http://www.musingsbymorgan.blogspot.com/2010/02/miscellany-about-morgan.html

Thursday, February 11, 2010. I clearly love alliteration.perhaps it elevates me into from geeky-cool into just geeky, but what can I say? This is my first semester as a grad assistant, and I am enjoying the 'behind the scenes' part of a college classroom. It's great experience, as I'd like to teach at the post-secondary level when my degree is complete. However, it lead me to grad school, so in the long run it was all a blessing in disguise. Friday, May 14, 2010. Why are low standards acceptable? May 19, 2010 at 6:00 PM. Why are you always such an angry ball of fire when you post? Kids dont know how to study. Many students struggle through the writing process. As an educator, it is part of your job to educate, regardless of the level, regardless of how mundane you may think it is, and regardless of how low of an opinion you have of your students former teachers. Morgan's Musings: February 2010

http://www.musingsbymorgan.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 17, 2010. What do people have against books? Part of the problem is students want information right away. Why should I read a book when I can go to Google and find information- and a lot of it- in a matter of seconds? Why should I go to a library when I can look for information from home? Why should I page through journals, magazines, newspapers, when I can see graphics of my search or click through pages online? More to come on this. Thursday, February 11, 2010. Here's the Cliff Note...

Educational Insights of My World and Others. Or How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love My Job…. It’s Going to Be Okay. I try to connect with my students on a personal level. I try to build meaningful relationships, trust, and culture within my classroom. I was reminded today that sometimes that can hurt. It hurts when I feel like there is more that I could have done to help this child, but know that in the end things might not have turned out differently simply because I can’t control everything.

Friday, July 31, 2009. Well, like everyone else, I've decided to begin blogging. I can say with a certainty that I probably will not be blogging every day. I have had this blog for a long time, just sitting here a blank slate waiting for me to make my marks upon it. I have not known how to begin it. I think perhaps I just was not ready to begin it. I am ready now. Boy was I naive! Wow, that stings. Gee. I refuse to beat a dead horse. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
