Stray thoughts.....: Tamdi Surla Revisited
http://dentaldiaries.blogspot.com/2015/06/tamdi-surla-revisited.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Starting point - The 13th century 'mahadev' temple built by the Kadambas, now being maintained by the archaeological survey of India. The first few hundred meters are fine. Easy going path. Cool breeze. Chirping birds. Cool streams with clear water. And then the obstacles start - crawling underneath over grown shrubbery and catching leeches all over the body. Trying to step over fallen bamboo stems - trying our best to avoid cuts and scratches. And then the falls! The path climbs a...

Thursday, January 8, 2015. Recognise the uniform at the corner of the picture? Yes, it is the traffic police official posted in front of SBI Ponda. Notice the double parked scooters? Yes, that is what he is supposed to prevent. But he appeared to be least bothered. We usually ignore both. Today I decided to question him about it. 8220;Sir, do you see those two wheelers which are wrongly parked? 8220;Then, what are you doing about it? 8220;They have just gone to the ATM”. 8220;What to do? POP has intentio...

Thursday, February 26, 2015. One of our members who went for the 1 km swim was heading for Mumbai and had to be guided back on to his path, but in the end all of them finished the distance in time and were back in one piece. The rest of us could swim the 250 mts with ease but another of my friends complained that the waves bothered him a lot. In fact they were bent up on bothering him and swelled up to their full potential especially when he lifted his head. Colva Beach - the venue of Swimathon 2015.

Stray thoughts.....: Concern or Interference?
http://dentaldiaries.blogspot.com/2015/07/concern-or-interference.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. The little girl hesitatingly followed her mother into the clinic. 8220;She has tooth ache since three days”. I asked the child to sit on the chair and just as the girl attempted to climb on to it, her mother lifted her and placed her in the chair. I went closer and bent down to address her. 8220;What is your name? The child was shy and took time to answer. 8220;Tell me, what is your name? 8220;Her name is Tanvi” - The mother intervened. 8220;Which standard are you in? 8220;That is ...

Saturday, September 27, 2014. He shouldn’t actually. He was the one who told Arjuna “Pick up your bow and kill. It is my will. Actually you are not killing and they are not dying. I am the one who is killing and I am also the one who is dying. I play this game and all of you are just pawns.”. Sunday, September 21, 2014. The road to Shantadurga. The inviting steps leading to the top of Maruti gad. A bit slippery but beautiful. A flock of cranes flying in formation over the swampy area next to the road.

Sunday, November 23, 2014. Some More Action - Hope we do not go too fast and end up losing steam! Again, work began early in the morning and our MP was punctual. I was happy to note that he was not there just for the photo-op. He meant what he said, spent a full two and a half hours, did considerable amount of work, dirtied his hands and seemed happy that he joined us. He is the one in the center, bent down. We raised enough dust. Hope it was noticed. Where is yours truly? Saturday, November 22, 2014.

Stray thoughts.....: Extraction Under GA - A Recent Experience
http://dentaldiaries.blogspot.com/2015/06/extraction-under-ga-recent-experience.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. Extraction Under GA - A Recent Experience. Mr Raikar had a difficulty. Due to a childhood injury he was unable to open his mouth completely. And it was painful to keep his mouth even half open for more than a few minutes. Obviously dental treatment was a nightmare. I am sure so it was for his dentist. Raikar ignored all dental treatment, avoided dentists and lived a blissful life. I was almost a nervous wreck when Saurabh exclaimed “The tooth is out, Uncle.” He gave...8221; I sat d...

Stray thoughts.....: The Chief Guest
http://dentaldiaries.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-chief-guest_11.html
Saturday, July 11, 2015. My speech was appreciated, I was thanked, handed a memento, offered a cup of lukewarm and very sweet tea and discharged. I returned home walking on the clouds, carrying the bouquet and the memento. I was feeling great. My father in law who was visiting us, was sitting in the armchair reading the news paper when I returned. He was surprised to see me ‘decently dressed’ and walking in carrying the bouquet and the gift. He raised an eye brow. “What is special today? That was a good ...
