Damn you, washer. Damn you to hell! | Musings from the Orchards

https://musingsorchards.wordpress.com/2006/12/14/damn-you-washer-damn-you-to-hell

Musings from the Orchards. Laquo; Dinner’s On Me. Damn you, washer. Damn you to hell! December 14, 2006 by Pia. The washer tore the beading off my favorite shirt. I should have expected this, since it was only 5,000 won (around five American dollars), and this happened to another cute shirt a few months ago. But. The fake stones on the front reminded me of the stones my parents would buy us from Monterey. Sweet blouse, you did me good. Oh yeah, before I forget:. Posted in Fashion Matters. A former suburb...

Musings from the Orchards. 1 I’ve studied Taekwondo on and off since I was fourteen. 2 I read comic books. 3 I knit. But I’m not very good at it. 4 I like to watch cheerleading competitions. 5 I eat green tea muffins from Dunkin Donuts at least three times a week. If I’m feeling adventurous, I get their mocha muffins. 6 On some nights, dinner consists of a package of strawberries and almonds. 7 I’m a lacto-ovo vegetarian. And I gained weight after I stopped eating meat. Journal of Asian Martial Arts.

Musings from the Orchards. Laquo; An Itch. Dinner’s On Me. A Little Older Now. December 11, 2006 by Pia. I had a soft spot for my supposed replacement, Jo, ever since I heard of her. Not only did she have the same name as one of my sisters, but she was the same age too and just out of college. And a vegetarian. Then she dropped out, dashing my dreams of a sunny, bikini-clad bliss in Thailand. Last Friday she arrived with her agency’s representative, thirty minutes after telling me of her arrival vi...

https://musingsorchards.wordpress.com/2006/12/07/an-itch

Musings from the Orchards. Laquo; Wish Me Good Luck. A Little Older Now. December 7, 2006 by Pia. As if my month couldn’t get crappier, I forgot to call my baby sister on her birthday (December 6th). I’m such a shitty sister, and all I want to do is kick myself in the teeth. So sorry, Marbs–you know I love you, and I will totally make up for it. Just canceled my interview. Sorry, Bonnie, I know you pulled some strings for me. Can I really put myself through another hagwon? These days I ache for my family.

Musings from the Orchards. December 3, 2006 by Pia. Had the most boring weekend ever . . . and loved it. On Friday I suddenly became obsessed with watching. I’d heard good things about the show, and I have a fetish for bald guys (don’t ask! And convinced myself there would be some hot guy-on-guy action (sorry). I’m at Kyobo. I really need your help. There’s this television show I really want to see,. I just found it, but it’s 90 American dollars! Mom, are you listening? There isn’t. There are s...On the ...

BLOG SUPERGROUP: August 2007

http://blogsupergroup.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html

Each week a new topic! Each day a different take on that topic! Each hour has 60 minutes! Wednesday, August 29, 2007. It's interesting to think about how, for so many people, summer is a time of rest and relaxation, while September is the time to get back to work. For me this year, it's essentially the opposite. Not only did I work all summer, but I taught summer intensive classes too! Ok, so my schedule wasn't. And I visited a. So check those links out and enjoy! Wednesday, August 29, 2007. I would like...

BLOG SUPERGROUP: *ahem*

http://blogsupergroup.blogspot.com/2008/01/ahem.html

Each week a new topic! Each day a different take on that topic! Each hour has 60 minutes! Friday, January 25, 2008. Some of us have moved; others have stayed put. Some of us have been very busy finishing semesters; others have been lazy. Some of us have (temporarily) run out of topic ideas; others are shy about being the first one back. Some of us are just bored. We still like you, Dear Readers, and miss your comments. But what, at this point, can bring you back? Would you like a new format? A recent one...

I've now waited about 30 minutes for the beer to breathe and warm up, sipping here and there, and as I expected, the awfulness has faded away. What is the point, Jeff?: HoX Beer Review #6: Delirium Tremens

http://jefflong.blogspot.com/2006/08/hox-beer-review-6-delirium-tremens.html

What is the point, Jeff? When I figure it out, you'll be the first to know. HoX Beer Review #6: Delirium Tremens. Made by Huyghe Family Brewery in Melle/Ghent, Belgium, I've proclaimed my affinity for Belgian Beer before. Specifically, Belgian Ale. It's delicious. The right amount of bitterness, along with perfect caramel tones. The deep color. When you look at this beer in person you can just see the character. This is a rich, honey colored ale. No mistake. From www.delirium.be. Beautiful, ain't it?

Musings On Weekends | on moments that make life

On moments that make life. This entry was posted on August 6, 2016, in moments. God bless my house-maid. At times I thank my stars that I live in a country like India where getting a house-maid/nanny (although not professionally trained) is easier than many other places. With my work occupying most of the waking hours the only time I get to spend with my growing-up-too-soon-baby is dinnertime. So imagine my (good) surprise when I casually asked baby R – “where’s your nose? SAHM vs Working mom. The basic ...

Musings from the Orchards

Musings from the Orchards. December 19, 2006 by Pia. Yesterday I spent over 250 bucks to ship my books back to the states–and those weren’t even all of them. Today I put down 175 to send back random knickknacks, ranging from USB cords to half-finished scarves to paper fans from Kyoto. They should arrive in mid-January. I’ve found that a lot of stuff that I bought in Korea would never be worn in the U.S.–long shirt-dresses (over pants! So yeah, I’m giving/throwing most of my clothes away. I’ll remem...
