A lot of times, staying up too late yields too much time for thinking about things that I have no control over. Tonight, it's being childless. The Sarge and I have been trying to conceive for the past four years with not even so much as a glimmer of a chance. We have made the conscious decision NOT to proceed with any fertility treatment. We do want to adopt eventually, but that process won't even start until we begin at our next duty station (at least two years more). Eating on $25 a week: You can!

I’m Kristin from The Simple Perks and I’m joining Kiesha in the Snack. Today I’m taking over Aleasa’s blog and sharing my favorite go-to. Snack recipe: Corn Dip. Huge hit at parties! Thanks ...

Well, I was looking back over my blogging life and noticed a post that had an unexpected high number of views. So, I thought I would go back 3 years and see which posts people read the most. The answers were surprising. Here is a walk down memory lane at the happy life blog. 1 Eat on $25 a week. Well, this one has almost five thousand views, but that's just because of Pinterest! 2 The End of Judas' Story. For the past two years, I have done a mini series of Passion Week reflections. How amazing and odd.

Does anyone else have sensory overload in this age of technology? This isn't the point but come with me on this journey, won't you? My goodness. I read these blogs because what they were saying interested me. and these women are passionate about their cause and in some ways play into shame for those who aren't familiar with topics or people that they hold near and dear. Why don't I know this name? Why aren't I familiar with this issue? Um, because I don't have to be an expert on everything. Which leads m...

Well, I'm only kind of back from the dead. I've really missed writing, taking a few moments a couple times a week just to say what I've been doing and thinking about. But, life is so busy that I'm not sure how much I can commit to. What's new? Speaking of back from the dead, I haven't decided if I'm going to revive the Heritage Kitchen. It's only a separate blog because it started out that way. I am not sure how many recipes I'm going to be posting in the future. Grad school is hard. Cheers friends. ...

Giving Thanks days - 3 and 4. Yesterday was a fun day. I had a mother/daughter Posh party. Then had dinner with the friends Nikki and Sasha, THEN got to see my long lost Christina! Most of you know but if you don't, I'm a total hermit and it's hard to get me out of the house for ONE fun time, much less three :) I'm glad I have persistent friends who are willing to fight for me haha. So, since I was so busy, I didn't get to write. But here I am now. And for today, I am thankful for Netflix. My mom is my b...

Eating on $25 a week: You can! So, I challenged myself to eating on just one shopping trip while the Sarge is gone. Actually, that's not one hundred percent accurate - I think I'll be subscribing to an organic produce delivery service but it won't start just yet. And. well. sometimes you get down to the last of your food money and the envelope just isn't producing like it used to (Dave Ramsey fans will know what I'm talking about! A few words about this little experiment. 1 It is not necessarily a balanc...

"Daily Venting & Exclamations...": Staycation Day Number 4
http://www.mishmish.org/2015/07/staycation-day-number-4.html
Saturday, July 04, 2015. Staycation Day Number 4. Last night we grilled and pre-celebrated the 4th with friends in the cul-de-sac. Man, did we have some good grub, too. Ribs were on point last night! There was also jerk chicken, pork chops, boudin, roasted corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad and even a red, white, and blue cake! Perfect evening for playing outside. Everyone is still snoozing here this morning now except me! The pups were up and ready to play, so I am up! I like the sparklers!
