Learning Chinese in Beijing. From September 2006 until July 2007! Wednesday, April 19, 2006. I was warned that spring in Beijing means lots of wind and sand, but I wasn't expecting this much wind and sand. Monday morning I woke up to dust-covered cars and streets - everything was coated in yellowish-brown dust/sand. The streets were deserted - nobody wanted to go out when the pollution levels are this high. My throat is now scratchy. My head hurts. It's not a day for a picnic. Posted by Caro at 11:51 PM.

Although I sleep fine at night, I'm tired during the day. I find it's been difficult getting over jet lag. I've seen a lot of people. I've kind of studied my Chinese. We walked to the main road to hail a taxi. The driver drove a whole 100m to the entrance of the temple.we hadn't realised we were so close! Learning Chinese in Beijing. From September 2006 until July 2007! Monday, October 31, 2005. The kitchen in the home where we stayed - pretty simplistic but the food was great! One of my students preparing the sheep meat. I saw the sheep being killed and I have pictures, but I'll post them later. This student spent three months in culinary school at one point. I had 21 students in my first class and nearly 30 in my second. My first class is from 8 AM until 9:50, with a ten-minute break at 8:50.
