He apologised and seemed embarrassed that we’d not yet seen them (should have seen them about 12 months ago) and he said that there’s not actually much he can say or do without seeing a new MRI result, which is fair enough. Awesome eyes, and some more surgery! We’ve had a busy couple of weeks! Last week Lachie had his appointment with the opthalmologist. We were referred there by his paediatrician because in certain situations Lachie’s eyes go in different directions and we were concerned he may need glasses or a patch on one eye. Hooray for awesome news! This dentist is the only one in Perth who has the special laser system he uses to do the surgery so it will hopefully result in a quicker and more comfortable recovery.

Monthly Archives: February 2014. Well Lachlan’s surgery on his lip and tongue went just fine. He was in there for about 45 minutes or so and made his Mama very nervous but it was all okay. He woke up a bit too soon from the anaesthetic so was very upset and grumpy and confused for a little while but had some icy poles and a special drink and he’d soon woken up properly and off we went home. You look a bit different now… Feeling better huh? Typical, isn’t it? He’s been great since! February 27, 2014.

I am amazed every day at how far Lachie has come in such a short period of time. Not only with his speech and physio since we began in October, but even just since his first steps only a month ago. This time last month he didn’t walk. Now he walks all day, is getting faster and more stable, taking more risks (attempting stairs and climbing things) and he is just the best.
