4 small changes in hard times. July 20, 2016. The trap of difficult seasons is it casts our eyes backward, Life was so much better when. Or it drags us into the future, If only I had or was in or. Screen time is no replacement for relationship time, and I’m not suggesting kids get a free pass to watch what they want, when they want. But I am saying that there are days when it is in everyone’s advantage to turn a movie on and to do so joyfully and willingly without feeling like a failure as a parent.

Toward the end of the day, I would reach into my handbag for the napkin-wrapped five slices of bread. Plastic knives and forks were part of my improvised travel kit and handy for buttering bread on a bench facing Lake Geneva. (What was I doing sitting outside, at the windy lake, in the middle of winter? Site design by Wooden Spoons Kitchen.

Edy, Hattie and Christian: For Sandy Mounce (my dental hygienist and loyal reader)

Edy, Hattie and Christian. Friday, February 10, 2012. For Sandy Mounce (my dental hygienist and loyal reader). I can't seem to keep ahead of this silly blog. If I didn't. Have someone comment on it, I probably would drop it all together. So, to you folks who comment out there, keep up the good work. I meant to post this one a while ago. Edy and her best friend, Gibson, were Mary and Joseph for our children's Christmas program at church. The girls are growing. And growing. And growing. I love your blog!
Mud and Sunshine: And the name is...
http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2009/03/and-name-is.html
And the name is. We beat our self-set deadline of picking a name for our little boy by April 1, and. Decided this past weekend. We have tossed around so many names it's dizzying, but we've finally settled on a name we both like: Jack. On his birth certificate, our little guy's official name will be John Stephen Phillips. My husband wants him to have a "proper" name on his birth certificate (as Jack is a nickname for John), and an option to go by John later on in life if he likes. April 4, 2009 at 9:35 AM.
Mud and Sunshine: 04.10
http://mudandsunshine.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Sometimes in the midst of life, I forget. Three poopy diapers and a crazy day of deadlines and worrying about family photos turning out and cleaning my house frantically kind of rolled in a like a fog today. It's days like these at a frenetic pace that I feel trapped, as if I need to take a step back and really. See life. And then life comes into focus again when, for example, my little munchkin falls asleep on my lap, and I take a bit of time to reflect. And I think: Really, what am I doing? I highly re...

Since my goal is to make one baby book for each child (equal rights! I decided to finish his scrapbook before our new little one arrives in early June (at which point I think I will be thankful just to shower and survive each day—and make sure my children do the same). In the process, I hope to also get at least a little bit caught up on my family albums. So here's to finishing Jack's baby book and getting ready to open a cute new book for a brand-new little boy! Edy, Hattie and Christian: Good Morning.
http://edyjane.blogspot.com/2013/01/good-morning.html
Edy, Hattie and Christian. Thursday, January 24, 2013. So I am behind, again. For all you folks who have commented (Mom, Liberty, Aunt Carol, etc.) hopefully this will satisfy. Really, you should just come see us in person. It's a whole lot easier and more fun. :). Edy had the thrill of her sweet little life when she got to be the flower girl in both cousin Travis' wedding and Uncle Caleb's wedding. She practiced being a princess.as if she needed any practice. And Christian says, "Hi.".

Edy, Hattie and Christian: July 2012
http://edyjane.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Edy, Hattie and Christian. Wednesday, July 18, 2012. I can see that I'm going to get no rest from my grumbling followers until I post some new pics, so we're going to go way back into the archives here to catch ourselves up. We went to Houston in May, I think. It was great to see Jake and Mindy and fam. We visited the Houston Children's Museum, which was well worth it. We painted faces,. Played in the make-believe city, where Edy checked the vital signs of numerous wounded and ill stuffed animals,. Until...
Edy, Hattie and Christian: October 2011
http://edyjane.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Edy, Hattie and Christian. Monday, October 17, 2011. Finally, pictures from our trip to Houston! I told you I would come through. We had a great time. Jagger and Edy fell even more deeply in love (as in love as is appropriate for cousins, of course.). We went on bike/stroller rides,. Jake fixed delicious breakfasts and even made Edy her yearly letter "E" pancake (which I completely forgot to do on her birthday and would have felt extra-terrible about if he hadn't already done it). Thanks to the Houston S...

My Daily Bread
Hello foodie friends, its been awhile! Smoothie bowl goodness: spinach, mango, banana, almond milk, maca root, vanilla protein, and a dash of cinnamon. Topped with chia seeds, hemp hearts, crunchy almond cereal and goji berries. Filling, delicious and packed with nutrients. Setting aside time for a beautiful breakfast is totally worth it. Frac12; cup orange juice. Frac12; cup vanilla almond milk. Like a creamy treat! That is all…. Makes almost 5 cups. I usually drink them all in before lunchtime!

In the vein of Living Philanthropic, follow my journey of "breaking bread" and giving back in some way each day throughout 2011. - JT. Saturday, January 29, 2011. Peonies and other things. June 24, 2015. Ittle Bear was born on June 1 in Geneva, Switzerland, and I think I received three bouquets of peonies in the weeks after his birth. The gentle flowers took their time to open up and every stage of the unveiling was glorious. They quickly became my favourite flower. Last I wrote on this blog, we were in transition. Figuring out what the next step was. Can we miss the good plans God has for us? Have we missed it? What if we pick wrong? What if we hear wrong? And th...

My Daily Bread Crumbs. Because Sometimes You Need a Trail Out of The Forest. December 18, 2013. I have a confession to make. I care what y’all think. (and now I’m not so secretly wondering what all y’all think of this born and raised California girl using the phrases “y’all” and “all y’all”.) Anyhoo… I care. I … Continue reading →. MY DAILY BREAD - Home
Nestled in the North Georgia Mountains, My Daily Bread was founded by the Wills Family in 2001. In an effort to eat a healthier diet, our family baked with whole grains for many years. In sharing with friends and also at Christian retreats where we served, people expressed a need for a whole grains bakery and My Daily Bread was created. EVERY loaf of bread is made just as we make it for our own table. We are on Facebook at My Daily Bread Whole Grains Bakery. We make gift baskets for all occasions. When p...
