A month ago our youth at church held a charity auction for camp. I offered up a tasting gourmet menu for a couple. My offer brought some tough competition, and sold for a good amount. Our friends Jean-Marc and Rachel won, and last night they collected. Amuse Bouche: strawberries filled with basil cream and reduced balsamic vinegar. Sharp cheddar cheese bread loaves. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Our little "Jar Bear" turned 5 today. It really is hard to believe that he is that old. He is such a wonderful person, and we are so blessed to have him in our lives. This last week during my 10 days in Europe I had an atmospheric treat, mostly from the history that of the restaurant that sat around the room. In Denmark I ate at the company cantina as part of the Academy, which actually is a delightful experience. Monday, May 23, 2011. Tae Kwon Do Tiger. Ended Ella enjoyed most of it, especially the treat part, and the scoring goals part. Ford earned his Green Belt this weekend. He kicked through two boards easy. He's definitely flying in his jumping kick. We are all so impressed with his determination to stick with it and all his hard work. Way to go Green Belt! Thursday, February 23, 2012. My little Owen turned 5 today! It is so hard to believe that he is that old. We are so grateful that he entered the world 5 years ago. Saturday, March 14, 2009. We returned the same way familiar to us. To Bad Homburg vor der Taunus. The roads have been changed, we figured. The old white tower can still be seen. But the trees are new on that field of green. On the face of buildings, the same color stone. But with new name alone, and with trees grown. The kindergarten is yet colorful, ready for play. Traffic winds past the corner in the same old way. Dornholzhausen, clustered before the mountain meadow. I looked around to see the fair ones.
