Not a pro painter but practice makes perfect. Paint when I get chance due to life stuff! An Aussie trapped in New Zealand. More of a painter than a gamer, I am interested in many different periods and genres. Fit in my hobby between work and full time study. Big fan of Eastern Front WW2 - 6mm wargsming and modelling.

Tabletop Commanders: Reposition, rethink, rescale & refight.
http://tabletopcommanders.blogspot.com/2016/12/reposition-rethink-rescale-refight.html
The blog of the Tabletop Commanders online wargaming community. Intro to the Community. Thursday, December 29, 2016. Reposition, rethink, rescale and refight. It is all part of the fun and learning process, but just sometimes, we, or at least I, try to squeeze a quart into a pint pot, with the inevitable result. Those of you with good eyes and memory, will notice in the photographs below, that I have slid the whole battlefield about five or six inches to the north west (top left corner). A) Reduce the nu...

Tabletop Commanders: Small Table 28mm - Setting Up
http://tabletopcommanders.blogspot.com/2016/03/small-table-28mm-setting-up.html
The blog of the Tabletop Commanders online wargaming community. Intro to the Community. Friday, March 11, 2016. Small Table 28mm - Setting Up. Just a short entry to show my first attempt with reduced sized units in 28mm. I have gone with the English Civil War and will use the Pike and Shotte rules. As the units are much reduced in size and of course, the table is also very small, I shall measure in cm rather than inches for both movement and firing etc. The table cleared of all my painting gear,. The Roy...

Tabletop Commanders: July 2016
http://tabletopcommanders.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
The blog of the Tabletop Commanders online wargaming community. Intro to the Community. Friday, July 22, 2016. Solo Campaign Games - First Steps. Following on from my previous article on solo campaign games, I did receive a lot of positive replies on the various Facebook and other locations to which I posted. Before diving headlong into a full scale campaign game with imagi-nations and fictitious maps, I thought it wise to do a mini-campaign or two, to dip my toes into the water. Now of course, I am not ...

Tabletop Commanders: Fighting a battle with miniatures. Part One
http://tabletopcommanders.blogspot.com/2016/11/fighting-battle-with-miniatures-part-one.html
The blog of the Tabletop Commanders online wargaming community. Intro to the Community. Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Fighting a battle with miniatures. Part One. But often, maybe after just a few weeks, with just a few units painted and a huge pile of lead still awaiting their turn, that initial enthusiasm begins to wane somewhat. That battle of Waterloo, Gettysburg, or whatever, seems just as far away as it always was, and that pile of lead just doesn't appear to be getting any smaller. There are rule set...

Tabletop Commanders: May 2016
http://tabletopcommanders.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html
The blog of the Tabletop Commanders online wargaming community. Intro to the Community. Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Thoughts on figure basing in Lion Rampant and Le Art. I was messing around with some figures in anticipation of an upcoming live, online battle and thought I may as well take some photos. I plan to do a Lion Rampant battle with my Wars of the Roses figures first, followed by a 100 point a side Le Art battle, so wanted to gauge the table size would would best suit the different systems. Switching...

Tabletop Commanders: Preparing for another solo battle.
http://tabletopcommanders.blogspot.com/2016/12/preparing-for-another-solo-battle.html
The blog of the Tabletop Commanders online wargaming community. Intro to the Community. Thursday, December 22, 2016. Preparing for another solo battle. Lieutenant General James Longstreet broke the silence. 'General Stuart has confirmed this to be the case, though, like ourselves, they are well strung out.' He looked one by one into the faces of his three divisional commanders, Major Generals Lafayette McLaws, John Bell Hood and Steven Clay. All three nodded in response. General Lee rode away from corps ...

Tabletop Commanders: Review: ACW Gamer #11
http://tabletopcommanders.blogspot.com/2016/04/review-acw-gamer-11.html
The blog of the Tabletop Commanders online wargaming community. Intro to the Community. Monday, April 25, 2016. Review: ACW Gamer #11. It's been a while since we made a post as of late so I thought I would put up a short review on issue #11 of ACW Gamer - the E-zine. For starters this is a pretty slick production - lots and lots of eye candy! But not only that, for the price of $12 USD one gets a lot of useful information! Fireball in the Night. No surprise here as this. Next we have an article by Bill M...

Tabletop Commanders: August 2016
http://tabletopcommanders.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
The blog of the Tabletop Commanders online wargaming community. Intro to the Community. Monday, August 29, 2016. Practicing what you preach. Part One. I am currently playing a number of games on the kitchen table at my current residence, in preparation for the move, though I believe this table is actually larger than what I will have available after the move, but I will just have to adapt to the new circumstances. The kitchen table is just 5 x 3 feet, a bit of a squeeze for 28 mm figures and terrain.
