Concerns of the economy, concerns of the election, health care, education, war (and rumors of war), security, mortgages, retirement, etc. I know about half of our country is in turmoil, and the other half is rejoicing; over the next President of the United States. Silly sounds from my underarm. What’s the messsage? Yesterday (Sunday, April 5th, to be exact) I had the opportunity to sub-teach for a couple of classes. The lesson focused on the Suffering Servant passages of Isaiah 53:2-12. Some interesting notes about the class and some conversation afterwards with people is what I would like to share. If so, is His message then that salvation is found in suicide? 1 Why did the piercing and crushing of Christ please the Lord, and does this make God a psuedomasticis?

HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise), SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend. The honor we bring our parents should never end.

Silly sounds from my underarm. Where’s Your Hope and Peace? The scripture reference above is one that we hear referenced a lot through trying times. It is used as a reminder for us when we start worrying about things like a slow economy, job loss/stress, cost of living, accidents, surgeries, etc. It is good to have a reminder like these verses to remind our emotion/situation Who is really in control of things (here’s a subtle hint: it’s not our emotions in control, nor is it the situations we face).

Sunday, October 18, 2009. Today is one of "my kiddos" birthdays and I'm sad I wasn't there to celebrate. Let me tell you even though I wasn't there did.
