Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Rowan has been singing the alphabet song lately, but the way he sings it just cracks me up. He always sings it the super fast way, which is how Athena usually does it. It is like he is singing in his own language. Athena officially turned 5 yesterday! We finished off the evening with a dinner with family, followed by eating leftover cake at home with just us. Wow, that was a lot of celebrating, but it was all worth it. I know she had a great birthday, and she deserves it, s...I mad...

Saturday, October 31, 2009. MoFo Day 31 - Happy Halloween. Which is his way of saying these days that he sure HOPES they are vegan. Wishful thinking I guess you could say. He never brought them up later though, so I guess he wasn't too excited about them. The key to a successful vegan Halloween is stocking up on lots of vegan chocolate varieties.:). I made this basket to pass out to the littler trick or treaters, pretzels, raisins, fruit leathers, and play dough. Then Chris helped carve the kids' designs.

Sunday, August 30, 2009. Saturday, August 29, 2009. The hotel room had 2 double beds and a couch bed so Athena took the couch, Chris had his own bed, and Rowan slept with me. That arrangement was great because the beds were pretty small. I was worried about Rowan rolling off the bed, but he never did. So, here are some photos from our adventure. Dinner in our hotel room. The kids lounging on the bay. I loved these little spots. Cruising our "private" beach. Ready for the blading/run. Athena on her blades.

Monday, December 21, 2009. We raised 2 of these beautiful monarchs, I thought they weren't going to make it as they stayed in their chrysalis much longer than I had read they would. Here is when one had just made it's chrysalis, and the other was hanging in a "j" getting ready. They have spun a sticky silk on the top of the enclosure to get ready to make their chrysalises. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Hurkey Creek - Spring 2009. The kids got to spend a day out in nature. They loved playing in the creek! It was a pretty cold day, but warmed up between 1-3 pm enough to not need a jacket (and play in the creek). We also visited a nearby animal sanctuary. Since Athena was disappointed she wouldn't get to sleep at camp, I told her she could have her breakfast for dinner and that made her quite happy. She feasted on Panda puffs with soy milk for dinner!
