Early morning 4.91 km MTB - bike ride - at Piles Creek in Brisbane Water National Park with an elevation range of 35m. Another freezing morning. A glorious day. first stop Wamberal Beach for a surf check. The surf not so good but the sunrise :). Next stop, North Avoca. There was a random wave but not encouraging enough. This blog is about my travels in various parts of the world. Monday, August 10, 2015. CENTRAL COAST KAYAK - COPACABANA LAGOON - 5 AUGUST 2015. Another sunny and cold morning kayak. This time at Copacabana Lagoon for 4.05km. Should I wear my fingerless bike gloves? Once again, I had to stop now and again to warm up my hands. The sun was shining on the southern part of the lagoon but a wind was blowing across the southern side to compensate. It was fun weaving in and out of the trees and through the reeds.

The lagoon at Wamberal was filled with water so I went for a short paddle around the lagoon. The breeze was a bit chilly so I kept to the sheltered western and southern sides of the waterway. Yana, Melvin and I went for a motorbike ride to Pura Luhur Batubatu from Balian. We left about mid afternoon and with Wayan's directions we were off. Well, his directions weren't too good 'turn left just before the second new bridge' as this was a dead end that veered under the bridge and stopped. It eventually started and finished very quickly.

A mono bank but clean and glassy. Off to Avoca lagoon for a kayak. The video shows a lot of trail blazing through the reeds and water bounded trees. Such a fun kayak! There were some birds around. I settled into my room at Ayu's Homestay and checked the surf. The waves were good so I had an okay late surf. My room at Ayu's is simple and rough - bed, mosquito net, fan and bathroom with shower and toilet - but it has an excellent view of the waves with a nice balcony and bench with a thin mattress.
