In the Midst of Motherhood. In every conceivable manner, the family is the link to our past, the bridge to our future." - Alex Palmer Haley. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. In the midst of mothering. I chose the title for my blog years ago when I was a much younger mother. I wanted to capture life for my-then-small family. Hinze family Christmas tree expedition. I must say that the choices were slim- lots of trees must have been put up over the weekend. In my mind I was looking for a smaller tree- about 5.5 feet but in the end I think we ended up with a 6.5 foot one. Mike called it a Charlie Brown tree but I think it's perfect! This is the title of Anne Lamott's newest book. It's about the three essential prayers for life. I've loved her writing, ever since I read her book Bird by Bird - about 12 years or so ago. Of course I had to read it before I gifted it - and I wanted to keep some quotes handy that moved me. You breathe in gratitude and you...
