becoming Julie Griffin: Double Bubbles

Monday, October 29, 2012. In the beginning, the other. Babies seemed so old. And big. And engaged. They would make eye contact and smile at you, hold their own heads up, and flail their arms and legs with excitement. The really old. Babies could laugh and hold things in their hands. And they drooled everywhere. Not my little peanut. In all her preciousness, she was delicate and smooshy and sweet and silent. Penny is three months old. And the drool. Apparently a pre-cursor to teething, the bubbles of ...

Where I’ve Been. Relocating and traveling the world. Summertime Stroll Along Regent’s Canal. If you have access to borrow a dog for the day, I highly recommend it. This is Betty, she was our companion for this excursion. I wish I could claim her, but she’s not mine. I’m not that responsible. We started our walk in Little Venice and finished at King’s Cross which is about a two hour journey. There are plenty of pubs, cafes, and parks to stop at along the canal if you fancy a rest (so British! And hot jell...

C is for Champagne - Lady, Relocated
http://ladyrelocated.com/2015/06/12/c-is-for-champagne
Where I’ve Been. Relocating and traveling the world. C is for Champagne. It’s always surprising to me how I can escape the madness of London and arrive in some quaint European destination in just a few hours. This past weekend I left the office at noon on Friday and arrived at a French farmhouse in time for dinner. It’s honestly as simple as do, re, mi, A, B, C…. Venay, France. The small town we called home for the weekend and easy to arrive by train from Paris. Rnest Remy, my favorite stop on our tour.

Talking 'Bout Turkey - Lady, Relocated

Where I’ve Been. Relocating and traveling the world. Talking ‘Bout Turkey. Sunshine, strong coffee, and adventure; the requirements for all good trips and synonymous with Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul is the furthest East I’ve been and it got me excited to continue further that direction someday soon. #WatchOutAsiaHereICome. We meandered down the hilly streets of Galata towards Karaköy to brunch at Unter. The coffee is imported from Vienna, the food mouth-watering, and the clientele beyond cool. On our last...

Where I’ve Been. Relocating and traveling the world. A Drive Along Germany’s Romantic Road. What do you get when you combine an Australian with the autobahn? An adventure you won’t soon forget, that’s for sure. My flatmate Josie and I headed to Germany for our four day Easter weekend at the beginning of April to tackle Germany’s Romantic Road. I’ve had my eye on this route since seeing it in one of Rick Steves’ books. And like most of his recommendations, it lived up to the hype. Ready to test our German...

becoming Julie Griffin: not cancer.
http://www.becomingjuliegriffin.com/2015/05/not-cancer.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. I went to bed last night thinking about the very real possibility that today we would hear the words " it's cancer. I'll back up. Dan's been having random bouts of extreme fatigue and getting sick repeatedly these past few months. Then he woke up with a lump in his neck a week-and-a-half ago. It's like a racquetball was lodged under his ear. After blood tests, specimen tests, X-ray, CT scan and MRI, they decided to biopsy the thing last Friday. Amidst the relief, I've been wrestlin...
