You are here: 50s and 60s. Back to Home page. In 1954 Doug Dundas, my Father, died. He had a bad ulcer which burst his main artery. He was only 50 years old! Thelma was the first of the four sisters to be married. She married Stewart Gray in 1959. Then it was Marlene's turn. In January 1960, she married Albert McNally. I married Samuel Binder in July 1960 and then Anne married Michael McKay in July 1961. Belonged to the owners of the house. The Child of Hale. Which was said to be 9 feet tall!

I wonder if anyone knows the derivation of the sayings below which were often used by my Mother (1899 - 1993, shown in the small photo, playing the accordian). I have included meanings where known. Fur th' luv o' Goad an' twa boabies'. A mild blaspheme, literally meaning 'For the love of God and two policemen'. A bunch o' raivelled thrupp'nies'. If something is all creased, like unironed clothes. IThe butter is all kirned up'. In the name o' some big hoose'.

Måndag 27 juli 2015. Mycket länge sen senaste uppdateringen, men det har hänt en hel del omvälvande saker i mitt liv. Blev även tvungen ta bort Tuva, pga av sorg, sjukdom och ålder. Saknar henne ofta, men känner att det var ett bra beslut. Hon blev trots allt 12,5 år gammal. Avslutade förhållandet med S. Det funkade inte pga att jag ville nog mer än han, inte lätt när det alltid kommer en massa hinder i vägen och att viljan och tiden inte riktigt finns där. God natt och sov gott.
