http://raighne.blogspot.com/2011/02/2-portraits.html
Wednesday, February 2, 2011. These are two quick portraits I did for some friends. One of them is VERY LATE (like 2 years or something. yikes! I felt compelled to do them as my wife had some left over paint from a recent commission. It's really nice painting again. Labels: Noah Van Sciver. I never get tired of looking at pictures of cats. The Bearded Soy-Milk-Elf Express: focus
http://raighne.blogspot.com/2011/08/focus.html
Friday, August 26, 2011. I've been away for a spell. I am thinking of making an attempt to make more fiberous posts and to pop them out with more regularity. But, as we all know, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Ahh well. This piece was illustrated for the 99$ Sale. At the Soap Factory. I started it in black and white and then coloured it via watered down acrylics. In all likely-hood, I should have just left it alone in black and white as I like that version better. The Book of Bartholomew.

The Bearded Soy-Milk-Elf Express: dogs
http://raighne.blogspot.com/2011/12/dogs.html
Friday, December 2, 2011. Putting out our last book of the year in a week or two - this a page from my contribution to the weird zine/comic/calendar/book/thing. We have a pretty sweet roster to the thing too - I'm pretty excited for it! If you threw down 25$ or more on the Kickstarter. For Motherlover you will be getting this before anybody. I'm also thinking of ending this blog and starting something new. I miss making marks so am going to try to do more of that in the new year. Is a bearded soy-milk elf.

The Bearded Soy-Milk-Elf Express: The Nanny is Too Literal
http://raighne.blogspot.com/2011/01/nanny-is-too-literal.html
Tuesday, January 4, 2011. The Nanny is Too Literal. I just did a write-up on my convoluted process of providing illustrations for Mark Granlund. S Book of Bartholomew. Over at Itchy Keen. I do not think I will be taking on any more commissions for 2011- I just can't hack it (plus I am already overbooked on my own projects and publishing plans). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). It's All Geek to Me: August 2010
http://minduster.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
It's All Geek to Me. Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Add your star in a monument to Reach. Geek within me, be damned. But after watching the little snipit from the dashboard on my XBox 360 about a virtual monument being built on a website made from the "tagged" stars created by Facebook users, I couldn't help myself. Takes you to a website that essentially is a fictitious (duh) memorial website dedicated to those brave six spartans that.fell? They make you wait your turn like a good little geek. I originally...

5x5: Divided is Printing
http://5x5litmag.blogspot.com/2012/03/divided-is-printing.html
As I type this, the spring 2012 issue of 5x5. Is printing. Can you believe spring is already almost here? The Minnesota winter has been pretty mild, although that hasn't stopped us all from saying, "Cold enough for ya? We're very excited to feature the work of a high school student on the cover of this issue. Here's what it looks like:. That's called "My Heart is Breaking," and it was created by Eleanor Leonne Bennett. Just a taste. But you can pre-order your copy by clicking on this link:.

Kinds of Reading: The Way in Which We Approach Text. I have been co-teaching an undergraduate class in poetry writing this semester. We spent a good deal of time at the beginning of the year reading books and discussing the writer's technique and use of craft. The final portion of this section ended with students writing about a single poem, an analysis of the craft elements that the poet had used to to persuade, manipulate, and move the reader. I figured out the mood. What does this tell you about how y...
