A Bird in the hand ..: TIME IS MARCHING ON ....
http://alidub.blogspot.com/2010/03/blog-post.html
A Bird in the hand . Thursday, March 11. TIME IS MARCHING ON . It has just hit me that my baby is in her last year of school. the last year to set her up with good habits for her future in the big wide world. When I look back at the changes she has had in her 16 years of life, I wonder have we been good enough parents or more importantly how much damage have we done? Is her independent streak, the result of being a boomerang kid or has this just added to her strong character and ability to be flexible?

A Bird in the hand ..: GUTTED!
http://alidub.blogspot.com/2009/08/gutted.html
A Bird in the hand . Saturday, August 1. I had a phone call from a very upset teenager today when she discovered that her beloved 'home away from home' - Maranui Surf Lifesaving Club and the very popular - Maranui Cafe was gutted by fire overnight. We checked out the damage today and it was heart wrenching to see the fire damaged memorabilia and ruined gear. I just hope that some of it can be recovered. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Nomadic Emma: November 2012
http://globalitinerant.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 27 November 2012. Every now and then, when there's a special something to celebrate, you should take an evening walk down the Southbank. Through the fairy lit trees, and alongside the sleeping Thames; smothered in hats, coats and scarves, we stroll amongst the commuters and theatre goers. Then we stop at a stack of Mexican themed shipping containers, because it's margarita Monday don't you know. Saturday, 24 November 2012. Caffeinated analysis, Friday. Another flat white please barista. Franconi...

Nomadic Emma: October 2012
http://globalitinerant.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 31 October 2012. After a week of entertaining us folk at Franconia, this year's pumpkin has gotten a little sad. But we're happy he made it to the day of celebration. Welcome autumn. Pass me another glass of mulled wine. Tuesday, 30 October 2012. North London, today. This afternoon I found myself in Newington Green. Never having been there before, I was taken by it instantly as I stepped off the 141. I think I'd like to live there one day. Monday, 29 October 2012. Saturday, 27 October 2012.

Nomadic Emma: 'summer' loving
http://globalitinerant.blogspot.com/2013/05/summer-loving.html
Wednesday, 15 May 2013. At the start of every summer, Londoners go crazy booking in events to celebrate the fact the temperature might push over into double figures. Despite one disappointing summer after another, somehow you still see that festival / outdoor gig / rooftop bar / sporting fixture / open air theatre listing and think, 'great! Despite it turning out to be quite the opposite of a summer event, it still reminded me again why love London. 19 May 2013 at 03:05. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Nomadic Emma: August 2012
http://globalitinerant.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Friday, 24 August 2012. More than I've ever discovered in any other countries I've lived in / visited, this one goes nuts for festivals. Every year, when March rolls around, the posters start to go up, and the emails hit inboxes. Line ups are announced, annual leave is booked off. Once the kids go to bed, and the bands have packed up, the forested dance area opens up and DJs take over the night, until the early morn. Thursday, 23 August 2012. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Nomadic Emma: September 2012
http://globalitinerant.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Monday, 3 September 2012. A new corner of London every day. You could do something new in London every single day for the rest of your life and still die not seeing everything. It's one of the many reasons why this city is so truly wonderful. On one particular weekend at the start of August, the Franconia ladies ran with a floral theme. First it was Kew Gardens in the sunshine and occasional downpour. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Word of the day: ambrosial. My favourite thing: Fridays.

Nomadic Emma: Chickpizz anyone?
http://globalitinerant.blogspot.com/2013/05/chickpizz-anyone.html
Thursday, 9 May 2013. One of the joyful things about London is her vast array of ridiculously named shops. Here's one fantastic example I came across the other day. Possibly the best bit is the image of the baby chicken standing next to the pizza. I don't think anyone really wants to see a cartoon version of what they're about to purchase. Thats a chick, right? I cant see it and I wouldnt eat it, however tasty it is. 9 May 2013 at 16:05. There is a Chinese restaurant in Kilbirnie called Smell and Smile.

Nomadic Emma: Sunday afternoon strolls
http://globalitinerant.blogspot.com/2013/05/sunday-afternoon-strolls.html
Tuesday, 21 May 2013. Regent's Park was on fine form on Sunday afternoon. The backside of London Zoo (seen through fences and hedges) was quiet aside from a couple of circumspect looking camels. The extensive fields inside the park were littered with people enjoying the twilight. And one particularly excited dog enjoyed a skillful Sunday game of football with his owner. Do you have any more stroll photos from the lovely summer you have been having? 24 August 2013 at 07:27. Word of the day: ambrosial.

Nomadic Emma: February 2013
http://globalitinerant.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 19 February 2013. A quick and dirty life audit. In a fit of dissertation procrastination recently, I thought I'd do an audit of the contents of my purse. My friend Eloise almost hyperventilates every time she sees my fabulous red purse. Partially because she's got good taste in accessories, but mainly because she can't cope with the way it looks like it's about to explode into a massive spontaneous tornado of Sainsbury's receipts and coffee loyalty cards. Here's the answer to my first question:.
