Vol Fans… | The Tennessee Texan
https://nickwendel.wordpress.com/2013/08/27/vol-fans
A blog by Nick Wendel. I was 12 years old when Tennessee beat No. 4 Miami on the road. I’ll never forget running circles around the room when Sean Taylor dropped Dustin Colquitt’s punt with 1:49 on the clock. I remember relishing the camera pans over the stunned Hurricane crowd watching its team lose for the first time on that field in 29 games. Tennessee was not supposed to win that game. We are hedging our bets. About what the analysts are saying. It is. This is going to bust some bubbles. It’s as if w...
Notes From An Adopted Texan | The Tennessee Texan
https://nickwendel.wordpress.com/2013/08/23/523
A blog by Nick Wendel. Notes From An Adopted Texan. On Saturday morning, I will celebrate the one-month anniversary of pulling out of my Knoxville driveway and hightailing it to West Texas, away from everything/everyone I knew. I expected the first month of life in this new place to be mostly lonely and challenging. How wrong I was. Here’s a summary of my first 30 days in Midland. A few quick notes from a new Texan:. Top 3: Ultimate Dog Tease. 3 I have only resisted adapting to Texas in one area: cowboy ...
The Groove | The Tennessee Texan
https://nickwendel.wordpress.com/2012/06/14/the-groove
A blog by Nick Wendel. Matt and I are proud to announce that the 11 days since my last post have flown by, and we have hit a consistent routine. And while the work is hard, we are officially in the groove. This past Sunday broke a streak of 12 consecutive days on the job, and we celebrated by driving two hours round trip to eat at Olive Garden. We just ate as much soup and salad as we could as we saved most of our meals for when we got home. It was Matt’s idea. 3 Got to skype my niece yesterday. Thanks f...
The Eagle Has Landed | The Tennessee Texan

A blog by Nick Wendel. The Eagle Has Landed. One week ago today was the first time I saw the bustling metropolis of Midland, and the past seven days have been a strange cocktail of feelings ranging from. What am I doing in Midland, Texas? This is everything I hoped! My editors at the paper have allowed me to take on some heavy responsibility, which has made the transition much easier because it’s hard to be miserable when you are doing what you love and getting paid for it. The house which the shed is be...
Hobart: a place with many names | The Tennessee Texan
https://nickwendel.wordpress.com/2012/06/03/hobart-a-place-with-many-names
A blog by Nick Wendel. Hobart: a place with many names. Greetings from Oklahoma (the “Sunshine State”). Matt and I just finished got home from work followed by the China King Buffet. Eating that Chinese buffet was easily the best mistake I made all week. And so, these next four or five hours will serve as our weekend. We will celebrate by pulling for opposite teams in tonight’s Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics matchup before falling asleep at halftime (a new ritual). We really are enjoying the unique experi...

News from the Gap. Updates from amy and ben. I gave in. There’s a little pup running around our place now. Shelby was dropped off at a classmates house, and she ended up at ours. Amy has another friend around the house now, but we’re both excited to have her. Just thought that I would post a couple of pictures. She’s six months old, and we’re not really sure what combo of breeds she is. Laquo; Lovin’ the quasi-cool weather. Date : September 16, 2010. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

If anyone has free time on weekends, just give us a call and come on up for a hike! Here are some pictures of the Jeep. Laquo; National PA Week. Date : October 20, 2010.

News from the Gap. Updates from amy and ben. There’s a big test on Thursday in Clinical Medicine. That course takes up the majority of our time this semester (9 credit hrs). Our first block has been infectious disease/hematology. We mainly covered diseases from influenza to ebola, and all sorts of anemias. It will be interesting to see how this test goes, but I feel pretty confident about it. Date : September 21, 2010. You got a puppy! Oh, and Happy belated b-day to Amy! I’ve been backlogged with e...

News from the Gap. Updates from amy and ben. We would like to ask for your prayers for several of our grandparents. They are encountering different illnesses, and we are praying for identification of and resolution to their problems. We look forward to seeing many of you in a couple weeks over the summer/fall break! Comments : Leave a Comment. They also opened up the LMU golf complex driving range last week, so I’m planning on smashing a few golf balls as therapeutic stress relief. Have a great week yall.
Rainy Days | News from the Gap
https://amyandben.wordpress.com/2010/09/27/rainy-days
News from the Gap. Updates from amy and ben. Today is awfully dreary outside. It’s been raining off and on continously. In a way it makes it easier to study by not having that bright sunshine outside, but at the same time, you might just want to slip under those nice warm sheets at home for hours on end. 🙂 Somehow Shelby ended up with a “cute” bandana around her neck before we left Ktown, which I informed Amy, must be removed before I take her out. A man has to keep some dignity. Enter your comment here.
