That Yarn Store: Weird pedicurists
http://thatyarnstore.blogspot.com/2011/01/weird-pedicurists.html
No longer a yarn store, and I often don't talk about yarn. But I do bake, travel, and attack wool with a needle. Monday, January 31, 2011. Yesterday J went for a pedicure. I declined to get my feet done though because the pedicurists were ugly. And here's a photo to prove it:. I like the idea of it. Symbiosis, that is. And if it's good enough for hippopotamuses I suppose it should be good enough for me. Except it is kind of . creepy. Which site do you want comments at? I didnt think it was a real thing!

That Yarn Store: Patron of the Craft
http://thatyarnstore.blogspot.com/2011/01/patron-of-craft.html
No longer a yarn store, and I often don't talk about yarn. But I do bake, travel, and attack wool with a needle. Thursday, January 13, 2011. Patron of the Craft. Recently there was an interesting post about sustainability and free. Over on the CraftyPod blog. One of the issues she raised (and to really greatly oversimplify it), is that although non-monetary goodies (like comments on a blog) is nice and appreciated, money is also nice and appreciated. Just send me an email to thea.yarnstore gmail dot ...

That Yarn Store: August 2010
http://thatyarnstore.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
No longer a yarn store, and I often don't talk about yarn. But I do bake, travel, and attack wool with a needle. Monday, August 30, 2010. We brought out the 24 Great Walks in Edinburgh again today. This time we walked around Leith and the waterfront. And Citadel Archway, which is all that is left of a fortification built by General Monck in 1608. A model boat floating above our heads. An Antony Gormley Statue. And what's perhaps the most exciting thing in the whole trip for me:. You might think it's a bi...

No longer a yarn store, and I often don't talk about yarn. But I do bake, travel, and attack wool with a needle. Saturday, October 30, 2010. Yay new project. And nope, not feeling guilty about ignoring the numerous UFOs. Why am I not feeling guilty? 1 Life's too short, and. 2 It's a sweater, so it's going to be very useful. Ok, so maybe there's a tiny bit of guilt, but I've never made myself a sweater! Pattern: Wicked by Rachel Bishop. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. My two favorite things. This is going to...

Lincoln Chose Broadswords: Midna: The Fused Shadow Part 2
http://thatnamejade.blogspot.com/2011/09/midna-fused-shadow-part-2.html
Thursday, September 29, 2011. Midna: The Fused Shadow Part 2. Are you ready for the rest of this? So, I completed the costume on time and wore it to CONvergence 2011. This is the rest of the process. Consequently, I no longer have fingers. So my last post left off with me dreading cutting out the rest of the detail for the facade of the Fused Shadow. This is why I was dreading it. Do you see all those lines? And THEN. I painted it. With spray paint. From Michael's. And it was good. The ears were made out...

Lincoln Chose Broadswords: September 2011
http://thatnamejade.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2011. More Pen Sketches for More People. Trying to get back into drawing frequently, because my skills were going to shambles. Sometimes, when you're in a work environment, you forget you're an artist. This is me trying to remember. All are done with ballpoint pen. I'd expect more like this to come. Midna: Six Months of My LIFE. For fuller, more polite descriptions of the costuming process, please see THIS LINK. But really, things were going pretty well. I'd sit like a creeper...
