Designs in their Native Habitats. Monday, December 9, 2013. The earlier, lumpier experiments are used for the cats, but the later, smoother vessels are now reasonable enough that I'm able to give some away to humans without too much embarrassment. Given everything that's happened this year, It'll be interesting to see what next year brings; I'm interested in doing even more tableware and illustrative experiments with sgraffito. As demonstrated in the black and white cat bowls) and mishima inlay.

Within my master's I'm creating several prototype websites to demonstrate how illustration can effectively fulfill the roles of visual imagery online, and one is a cupcake bakery website. There are approximately thirty businesses in Perth that sell cupcakes as a primary or secondary. A bowl for Topper, even though his preferred of eating is to gut a cat food bag and climb inside it to feast from it like a felled wildebeest. Wednesday, August 28, 2013. In which Scout's fearsome visage becomes apparent. I was somewhat worried that her glower would break my camera when I was taking reference photographs; she's such a little monster. Designs in their Native Habitats. Monday, July 22, 2013. The Fabulous Comics of Field Naturalist Rosemary Mosco. Rosemary Mosco's work is a fabulous example of how science and art can be combined to create narratives about the natural world which stir the imagination. Her comics are also superbly well suited to dissemination online; because of their compact, vertical format and 8-bit inspired aesthetics, and the adoption of the memetic and humorous language popularised in informal online forums.
