Lobster Lus Art, Antiques and Jewelry Blog. Exploring the primordial urges of collecting and preserving objects of the past. Why do we do it? Creating wearable art into unique jewelry. Why do we wear it? Observations on surviving in this changing world. Sunday, January 17, 2010. Ring a Day and Tears for Haiti. This year I joined a flickr group called Ring a Day. It was started by Nina Dinoff. It just gives me energy and inspiration to see forms of pure creativity. I get the same surge checking out th...

Blog: Annie Pennington Jewelry. March 30, 2010. Continuing on with the wrapped wire technique, I used more wire today to increase the size of the ring. I think this technique has the potential to help me create much larger scale work that is lightweight, encompasses a lot of space, but still has an airy quality to it. Thursday, January 28, 2010. Ring a day, jan 28. This ring is built out of oddly-shaped steel hexagons that didn't quite become earrings or pendants. Steel, sterling silver. Also, these band-aids happened on the same day I was fabricating this piece, and seemed like an appropriate image to share- they're kind of like rings! Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Ring a day, jan 27. They just live where it's really cold! So, to me the narwhal was like a fairy tale redelivered, when I was old enough to know better.

A Book Well Used. It's always been a habit of mine to sketch ideas when inspiration forms. I like to capture as much as I can relegating judgement and criticism for later. Ideas are precious and sketching them in pencil on paper quiets my inner fear that someday perhaps there may be no new ideas left. Posted by Delias Thompson / Friday, February 22, 2013 /. More Than I Am. Recently I have spent a lot of time pushing myself to be better than I am. I yearn to fabricate the pieces I love. The pieces that feed my soul, illuminate my inner pride and connect the many pieces of me leaving me whole. I want to craft the pieces that mean more. The pieces that become a part of you, that you purchase not merely for their beauty but because they speak to you. I want to be something more than I am. I strive to be, better than I am. That they are moved by me too. Building...

You are never given a wish without being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however. The path is upside down and backwards, crooked around the edges, uphill both ways, turning upon itself without reason. It is with intention. You cannot rush what turns and changes each second. You cannot find shortcuts that do not exist. You cannot reach what is not physical. You must accept. You must exhaust all reason. you must give in. It is not for examination, it just is. It will not be.
