Adventures in Homeschooling: January 2010
http://raechelleec.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
A Mom's Tales of the Good and Bad in her Homeschool year. Monday, January 18, 2010. January Homeschool Review (or how I kinda, sorta fell off the Unschool wagon). I realized then that I didn't have very many "tactile" things to show the nice lady at the BOE and prove what my boys had learned. And I panicked. Of worksheets in language arts and math during those 11 days. I felt sheepish because I wasn't purely unschooling anymore, and because I felt as if I was trying to fool the BOE. What a Crazy Month.

Adventures in Homeschooling: We've Hit the Wall
http://raechelleec.blogspot.com/2011/04/weve-hit-wall.html
A Mom's Tales of the Good and Bad in her Homeschool year. Saturday, April 2, 2011. We've Hit the Wall. Our school year using Oak Meadow has been great. We've stayed on track through remodeling and moving, the kids like the curriculum, and they have learned things that I would not have thought to teach them. They were doing great, and there was no whining when I called "time for homeschool.". By Wednesday I knew it- they had hit a wall. So as we progressed through the stuff I had planned for Thursday and ...

In desperate need of entertainment: August 2010
http://kimjohnstone.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
In desperate need of entertainment. The cooler fall weather allowed to me having a tea party with my kids today. No, not because it's too hot to drink tea in the summer or because we're too busy at the playground to be bothered with such indoorsy silliness. It's way less direct than that. Olivia usually naps twice a day. These naps usually look something like this:. Please note the bad wrapping job. See what you learn in a year of wrapping? Let's get some water boiling! Rather than "I really wish I could...

Three for me, three for the kid. Bringing Out the Dead →. August 18, 2014 · 8:59 pm. Well, hasn’t time flown by! I’ve not stopped reading, but some of the books I’ve read recently have made me want to give it up completely. Here’s a rundown on the latest. Let’s start with Bittersweet. 8230; The Divorce Papers. Is stuck on a high profile divorce case because the wronged wife likes her spunk. Of course, she isn’t cut out for the job at all, but then…of course she is! And this was similar in that it was fil...

Box Boat. Boom. Bust. Six more down →. June 29, 2014 · 10:58 am. Three for me, three for the kid. I’m 52% through my 2014 book challenge, and apparently two books ahead of schedule with 27 out of 52 books read. Not bad, but there are no room for dry duds to pop up and slow me down. I’ve read three books since my last post: one good, one meh and one great. The good was Plan B. The first book of his I read) is going to be a movie. Soon with Tina Fey and Jason Bateman, so there’s that. Clocking in at around...

With the sticker program they can earn a sticker for an overall good day, and for doing things especially well.
