The Aphex Face | bastwood
http://www.bastwood.com/aphex.php
A long time ago — in the summer of 2001 if I recall correctly — I ran into an intriguing page at http:/ chaos.yerbox.org/face/. Chaosmachine’s more recent page can be found at blamcast.net. The original page, which sadly resides only in the web archives nowadays, was all about this hidden “demon face” in one of Aphex Twin. 8216;s tracks, #2 (the long formula) on “Windowlicker”. This face was supposed to be viewable with a spectrograph. After I had the wav-file, I used a program called Spectrogram. While ...

'Vochinch' - Notes From Hairenik | An Armenian Blog
http://noteshairenik.blogspot.com/2004/11/vochinch.html
November 22, 2004. The main indicator of this vochinch phenomenon amongst the youth is the fact that there are virtually no youth actively involved in politics in Armenia. Parliament members are typically over 40 and have no appeal to younger generations. Rather than mobilizing, the youth remain silent regarding all politics, as they believe that the system cannot change, and that it is futile to even try. Or, they are simply uninterested. Time to Let Go - Notes From Hairenik | An Armenian Blog
http://noteshairenik.blogspot.com/2014/11/time-to-let-go.html
November 1, 2014. Time to Let Go. When you fight to cling to people who are no longer meant to be in your life, you delay your destiny. Let them go. My second marriage after only five years has failed. My wife and I have been unhappy together for well over a year. She claims I don’t give her. She could never properly elaborate on what she really meant),. But we both eventually realized that we were simply not meant to be together. Posted by Christian Garbis at 10:13 PM. A Pomegranate Paradise - Notes From Hairenik | An Armenian Blog
http://noteshairenik.blogspot.com/2010/11/pomegranate-paradise.html
November 3, 2010. Over the weekend I made my third pilgrimage to Meghri, the gorgeous Armenian town bordering Iran, this time with my adventure-seeking father-in-law Levon who has been itching to get out of Yerevan for several months. The last time he left was for his birthday party in Aghveran in late June. If he leaves the city once during the year he considers himself a fortunate man. It was his time on Saturday morning. We followed the same path to Meghri that I traveled along last year with Sergey.

http://noteshairenik.blogspot.com/2015/02/birthday-wishes.html
February 2, 2015. Today's my birthday, which coincidentally falls on Groundhog Day. Yes, that indeed is a hilarious coincidence. Good thing no one in Armenia knows what Groundhog Day is, never mind a groundhog. I have only two wishes for my birthday:. I hope that's not very much to ask for. Labels: Thoughts and Musings. Posted by Christian Garbis at 12:43 AM. Links to this post. May God bless you and your boys! Happy Birthday, my friend! Monday, February 02, 2015. Tuesday, February 10, 2015. You have eve...

The Godfather, Part II - Notes From Hairenik | An Armenian Blog
http://noteshairenik.blogspot.com/2004/12/godfather-part-ii.html
December 16, 2004. The Godfather, Part II. An interesting, quite touching favor was asked of me just shortly after my arrival in September - I was honored to have been offered the privilege of serving as the 'kavor,' or the Godfather, for my close friend Karen Minasian, who I have known for over two years. More on this soon. In the posted photo I am seen on the far right, in partial disbelief that Karen was actually going through with it. Posted by Christian Garbis at 5:28 PM. Links to this post.

Notes From Hairenik’s 10th Anniversary - Notes From Hairenik | An Armenian Blog
http://noteshairenik.blogspot.com/2014/11/notes-from-haireniks-10th-anniversary.html
November 21, 2014. Notes From Hairenik’s 10th Anniversary. This month Notes From Hairenik celebrates its decennial, online for 10 years straight. I can’t believe a decade has passed already, seems like I just moved here a few years ago. It’s unbelievable how quickly time passes. Over the years I have documented all facets of my personal life and observations about Armenian culture, society and politics on this blog, and I’ve told the stories of countless citizens, usually ordinary people. I grew signific...

A return to Ararat - Notes From Hairenik | An Armenian Blog

October 9, 2006. A return to Ararat. I spent the past weekend in the Ararat plains, where Sergey, my surrogate father in. Owns about 10 hectares of land.
