Not Afraid of the Powers That Be. For those who are not afraid to challenge the status quo and look toward a future of peace and harmony among all God's creation. Sunday, May 29, 2011. What’s a more appropriate subject to speak about on Memorial Day but freedom? Each Memorial Day we remember those in our country who have fought for the freedom we stand for as Americans; and this is a good and right thing to do. Not Afraid of the Powers That Be: April 2009

http://www.notafraidofthepowers.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Not Afraid of the Powers That Be. For those who are not afraid to challenge the status quo and look toward a future of peace and harmony among all God's creation. Saturday, April 25, 2009. It's been such a long time since I've written for me. I find it refreshing. Not that I don't write for me all the time. My sermons are usually a message I need to hear. But it's nice not to have to consider how others will interpret my writing. And like THE GOOD NEWS, resurrection offers a new body, unlike the one befo...

Not Afraid of the Powers That Be. For those who are not afraid to challenge the status quo and look toward a future of peace and harmony among all God's creation. Wednesday, March 9, 2011. In this passage we just read, God demands that the prophet Isaiah, "Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.". I know those of you in attendance tonight are faithful people of God. The kind of people who pray,...

Not Afraid of the Powers That Be. For those who are not afraid to challenge the status quo and look toward a future of peace and harmony among all God's creation. Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Grief upon grief.so much sadness, there aren't enough tears. Tears for my mother.for all her pain, for all her sadness. For all that she wished she could be. For all the sacrifice she made to make others happy while she fell deeper into lowness and anger. To be threaded again. A firm foundation on which to build a life?

Not Afraid of the Powers That Be. For those who are not afraid to challenge the status quo and look toward a future of peace and harmony among all God's creation. Monday, February 14, 2011. I really miss preaching. More and more, my ministry becomes less and less about preaching. As a youth leader and one of three pastors in the church my preaching opportunities are limited. It is my joy to preach. Saturday, February 12, 2011. Zombieland Rules for Thriving in the Church. Thursday night I was at a lecture...

Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Mornings at Our House. Before we get up, Beau and I have to engage in some sort of epic battle against one of his long-standing foes: my hand wiggling under the covers.or my evil hair ties. Today, the hair tie is winning, but everyone loses when he tries to take them out of my hair. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Friday, November 12, 2010. The Untied Methodist Church. This blog has been a long time coming. It is vital that I say this correctly. Next weekend I am speaking in my United Church of Christ (Congregational) about how much I love my new church home. I have spent the past few weeks working on essays for seminary. And through all of the exciting things happening in my spiritual life, this blog has continued to nag me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Postcards From Yo Momma.

March 25, 2006. A letter arrives in the mail. Another message of stamps. I do not recognize what names. The sender exactly,. Though it is similar to an old friend’s. So I call, and hear. It is not that friend, but another. Who’s cancer has moved her into hospice. And a six month countdown. That may be longer. Or shorter without chemo this time. This is all very surreal. To notice how tragically normal. The news seems, although it is not good. This is frequent, now,. The turning of health and life.

June 18, 2006. Father of the King. I preached my first sermon, ever, on Father's Day! Last week.) It went very well, i was pleased, and it seemed that the congregation was pleased as well. Yes, I was nervous, maybe I'll write more about that later. But as I reflect on this experience, I have to say that in preaching this sermon I felt very alive. Yes, this was it! I am taking my reaction to this experience as a confirmation that I am on the right track it'd be cool to do this often. Links to this post.

So, I'll be doing my unit of CPE this summer! It sounds like I will be working with the homeless and/or transitioning homeless this summer. I am excited! It is a ten week, full time plus program- so I'll be busy, but I think it will be good. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Http:/ foreverkc.blogspot.com/.

Friday, January 1, 2010. Happy new year, my friends! I hope 2010 is a year full of joy, excitement, and love for each of you. This year's christmas, despite some noted absences (my brother in particular, who spent his christmas buried under four feet of snow in nebraska with his fiancee), was one of the best in a while. we laughed and joked, ate until we hurt, and i have to confess that it was nice that everyone complimented my much-healthier appearance. even my uncle said "hey skinny! Not afraid of ruins. December 9, 2017 · 12:10 pm. A few days later, a TV news program interviewed Nick Miller, a White supremacist and member of the National Front. He suggested an alternative explanation, that Jews had vandalized the cemetery themselves, to generate sympathy for their countrymen . On Tuesday, The Australian published an article about protests against White supremacist Milo Yiannopoulos’ public talk in Melbourne:.
