Notes from a biker

Notes from a biker. Wednesday, 9 March 2011. Saturday, 1 January 2011. New Years Eve Blues. Saturday, 6 March 2010. Front calipers and pads. It must have been all the riding through winter that had worn my pads down so much, i had popped them out as I thought they were rattling a little and was going to grease the backs to try and help them out a bit when I saw how much pad was left I was a bit surprised:. Admittedly the second pad along still had groves on it. Thursday, 31 December 2009. Above was the o...

Notes from a biker: June 2009

http://www.notesfromabiker.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Notes from a biker. Tuesday, 9 June 2009. I just ground the writing off. I think I made a fairly good job of it considering I only had a grinding stone in on the end of my drill. Not sure if it's going to rust now I have taken the finish of, i will wait and see. At least it solves my immediate problems of getting to work and back without a long and expensive train journey. Wednesday, 3 June 2009. Some rear caliper action. Rear caliper. So I thought to myself "Oh yeah I'll. Far enough. This resulted i...

Notes from a biker. Thursday, 31 December 2009. And a merry xmas to you too. Monday, 7 December 2009. Reasons to be thankful. The dates aren't accurate just a rough idea. http://www.notesfromabiker.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Notes from a biker. Thursday, 2 July 2009. Some rear caliper action II. The caliper from ebay wasn't exactly as described, it was in gold for a start and didn't exactly look in good condition. After a bit of polishing and wire brushing it didn't look too bad though although I will have to spray it at some point before the winter otherwise it will be furier than a fury thing. Ajax on Data Sphere | Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness

https://maxvond.wordpress.com/2015/06/05/ajax-on-data-sphere

Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness. Adventures in sci-fi and fantasy wargaming. Ajax on Data Sphere. So down at Data Sphere. A friendly unofficial forum for Infinity players, they run regular painting campaigns to inspire players to pick up their brushes and get a themed mini painted. Sort of like a low pressure online painting competition. Pretty pleased with him, though I wasn’t really trying anthing new and was just refining a tried-and-trusted colour scheme. Summer win, Autumn begins | Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness

https://maxvond.wordpress.com/2015/07/28/summer-win-autumn-begins

Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness. Adventures in sci-fi and fantasy wargaming. Summer win, Autumn begins. I’m delighted to announce, somewhat belatedly, that my Ajax was voted joint first place in the Data Sphere Summer Painting Challenge. Nice that voters liked what I’d done with the crazy big dude and nice to see a front page post on the website where they picked out some key features they liked on the winning minis. Congrats to ibanezmark and Kenza for their cool entries. Check out the post here.

Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness. Adventures in sci-fi and fantasy wargaming. Cordelia’s Ripped Stockings. Quick little progress update on the Cordelia Turner miniature. I mentioned in the last post that I was thinking of re-doing the legs on her to add a bit of punk attitude and also to differentiate her from Angel’s studio paint scheme. First attempt at ripped stockings and I’m quite pleased with how they’re working out. Probably tidy a little more but they’re mostly there. Ah yes, that would be pe...

Salute Just Around the Corner | Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness

https://maxvond.wordpress.com/2015/04/17/salute-just-around-the-corner

Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness. Adventures in sci-fi and fantasy wargaming. Salute Just Around the Corner. It’s amazing how fast Salute. Comes around each year, particularly if you’re worried about getting your entries finished in time for the painting competition. Actually this year I’ve decided to take a break from the painting competition so I’ll just be going along as a spectator without the weird nervous anticipation of “those minis are way better than mine! 8221;, etc. Liked by 1 person.

Let’s Play Dress Up, Wargaming Meets Cosplay | Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness

Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness. Adventures in sci-fi and fantasy wargaming. Let’s Play Dress Up, Wargaming Meets Cosplay. Geek culture has really come out of the closet in the past decade and many aspects of sci-f/fantasy related hobbies have lost the stigma they may once have had. I regularly play boardgames with work colleagues and I openly discuss the fact that I paint little toy soldiers, something I’d have probably kept quiet five or ten years ago. And Tabitha Lyons to put together an outfit o...

Max at Salute 2015 | Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness

https://maxvond.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/max-at-salute-2015

Max Von Deadlock's Miniature Madness. Adventures in sci-fi and fantasy wargaming. Max at Salute 2015. I’d decided not to enter anything in the painting competition this year as I fancied the break and also hadn’t really painted anything to showcase standard. Apparently I wasn’t the only one and a number of winners didn’t even realise it was happening. Poor show there, organisers! I’ll let you know how I get on with that, but first impressions are that the game seems good (Imagine Malifaux and Warma...

Notes From Number 47

Sunday, 23 March 2014. A little closer to home, going vegan at Camden Market: Arepa and co. Cornbread is my favourite type of bread; ever since I read To Kill A Mockingbird all I wanted was to be Scout Finch and cornbread just reminds me of that book and how wonderful it is. Despite being so tempted by the topping of guacamole and pulled chicken (mixed together! Camden Market on the weekends, the part of the market where Honest Burger and Chin Chin Laboratories is, is food heaven! Ree (Notes From 47).

My Blog | Just another WordPress.com site

Just another WordPress.com site. Asymp; Leave a comment. Our Saturdays are usually simple, magical and child-led fun. Brayden has been bitten by the train-loving bug for the longest time. He set up the tracks, and he was happily making “choo choo” noises and moving the trains along the tracks. I love to watch him play while I had my breakfast. He found a box of foam shapes under the table. Brayden was trying to name out the shapes in his hands, the cone and cylinder. He did a floor puzzle of a bus. We ha...

Notes From a Biophile

Notes From a Biophile. Sunday, February 13, 2011. Toucan Treatments and Raw Cat Food. This last week has been marked by the planning of animal diets both at the aviary and home. Every animal, including yourself, has an optimal diet that will keep them running smoothly well into their twilight years. Our job is to find out what that ideal diet is and strive for it. Toucans are fruit eaters and the obvious first step is to identify fruits that are low in iron. There are many such fruits and all the fru...
