Notes From the Fault. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Nationalism is the Crutch of the Morally Weak. January 17, 2011. Note: This piece was written in spring, 2009 in Amman, Jordan. I thought I might try to get it published (alright, I did try to get it published). Failing that: to the blogosphere. Nationalism is the crutch of the morally weak. Monday, July 08, 2013. These animals visited us in one day. This is only the second time we've seen a deer here. The crane parents come over once in a while, but this is the first time we've seen the kiddos. This owl perches on this branch at dusk fairly often, but we hadn't seen him for a few days. Overall, it was the best day of animal watching that we've had here. Here the bunny is eating morning glory right outside our window. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sunday, August 04, 2013. On the Shiawassee River. Both of our jobs contribute to secondary trauma. So I am glad that we both enjoy getting outside to refresh our minds and bodies. This weekend we went biking, walking and paddling. Here are a few shots from this morning on the Shiawassee River. We avoided the snake (later we learned that it was a northern water snake. And continued on the other side of the road, where peace and tranquility returned. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Amy - The Simple Life.

notes from the fallen

Thursday, January 12, 2017. Tying up some loose ends on our Germany travels, today's post looks at Mainz and Cologne (or, more accurately, Köln). Both cities are dominated by (and primarily toured for) their impressive cathedrals. They also happen to be cities in which we (apparently) didn't take many (good) pictures. Mainz is a Roman town with impressive history and a spooky cathedral. My favorite part of the town was the Gutenberg Museum. Wednesday, January 11, 2017. I agree with him that science alway...

Monday, May 11, 2015. Yesterday was Mother's Day. I've never bothered about these 'days' come and go and I would not know if not for all the social media messages. So we didn't have any major celebration planned or anything. Just our usual Sunday meal. Not until my little one surprised me with a lovely greeting card that she made at school.
