Notes from the Holler

August 3, 2015. Until I looked at the eggs he'd brought in and realized that we did, indeed, have a new layer. When a hen first starts laying, the eggs are smaller. They gradually increase in size until they reach their max size after a few months. And one of the eggs was definitely smaller than the others. It was even more clear when I cracked them for my morning omelette. Kieran went out the other day to check on them and decided to play tag with them. "Tag, you're it! The Lady of the Holler. Notes from the Holler: May 2015

http://notesfromtheholler.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

May 28, 2015. Cael graduates (from preschool). Cael's first year of school (preschool) has come to an end. We celebrated with a picnic in the park with his classmates on Wednesday. Mrs Karla let everyone try on their graduation caps. Somehow Kieran finagled one, too. He's good at the finagling thing, I've found. Tonight was the "program." Cael was very excited to attend his graduation program, and if you've been around him lately, you've probably heard about it. The Lady of the Holler. May 27, 2015.

Notes from the Holler: The Sundew

http://notesfromtheholler.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-sundew.html

July 23, 2015. You might remember that I recently acquired a Venus flytrap. Which is currently trapping flies outside on my patio. Because I also wanted to trap tiny gnats and other insects, my carnivorous plant expert friend suggested I add a sundew to my new menagerie. Since my flytrap had already survived all of a week or two at our place, I decided to I was up for another meat-eating plant. New leaves will uncurl upward, like a party favor. Old leaves will shrivel downward. I was happy to see that, i...

Apart from the extra sheets and towels that always come in handy. On top of that, your dad wasn't overly interested in looking for things to register for. I finally talked him into it and we went off to Target to browse the aisles and see what we could find. And people showed up. Which was even more. By that time, we were thr...

Fruitful fulminations: “Good night, trees” and other Mariah-isms

Monday, November 19, 2007. 8220;Good night, trees” and other Mariah-isms. This is a place I plan to just post cute comments from Mariah as they come. Check this one out regularly- she's always saying something noteworthy! 11/18/07 Upon looking at the trees in their waning Autumn beauty, and our discussion of how they were going dormant, she said, “ Good night, trees. 8221; Good night, indeed. We'll miss you until March. To which she replied, of course: " Well, I'm looking at the fire and I'm thinking.

Fruitful fulminations: Tribute to Mom

http://fruitfulfulminations.blogspot.com/2010/08/tribute-to-mom.html

Wednesday, August 4, 2010. Another passage caught my eye that she marked from 2005. It was the date that my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage. She laid out her feelings before the Lord about the pain that I recall sharing with her over the phone as we both cried and grieved over the child that it seemed I would never be able to bear. The Lady of the Holler. Beautiful tribute, Frost. August 5, 2010 at 7:02 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Notes from the Holler.

Adventures with Baby J and Bean: "I need a case manager."

http://www.babyjandbean.com/2011/10/i-need-case-manager.html

Adventures with Baby J and Bean. And our perfectly imperfect life. What is Williams Syndrome? Sunday, October 2, 2011. I need a case manager.". So many times, I've heard parents of kids with special and complex medical needs say that they need a case manager. I can certainly relate. The good news is that there's resources out there for parents like us. Shortly after receiving his Williams syndrome (WS) diagnosis, his pediatrician referred us to the Diagnostic Referral Group. At Children's Hospital of Phi...

Adventures with Baby J and Bean. And our perfectly imperfect life. What is Williams Syndrome? Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Hanging with Baby J. I've been making an extra effort lately to spend as much one-on-one time with Baby J as possible. He had been showing signs of jealousy towards his brother and the extra attention he receives in the form of therapy sessions (fun grown-up playmates that come to the house) and doctor appointments (fun outings - at least in Baby J's eyes). Today is a preschool day&#...

Adventures with Baby J and Bean. And our perfectly imperfect life. What is Williams Syndrome? Tuesday, April 26, 2011. One of the hallmark characteristics of individuals affected by Williams Syndrome. WS) is a highly social personality. This past weekend, Bean was surrounded by family and friends and Husband and I had the opportunity to really see Bean's sweet personality in bloom. Adventures with Baby J and Bean: Tomorrow is the day...

http://www.babyjandbean.com/2011/09/tomorrow-is-day.html

Adventures with Baby J and Bean. And our perfectly imperfect life. What is Williams Syndrome? Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Tomorrow is the day. Bean's dental surgery is tomorrow morning. I wrote about it before here. We have to be at the hospital at 7:45. I'm glad it's relatively early so that he won't be too hungry and grouchy. Bean's SVAS is mild at this point and he has done well with anesthesia in the past (pre- diagnosis), but his condition is progressive in nature and I am his mommy so I worry.

Notes from the Higher Self. Oh Dear Creatures of the Earth, Are we not all like. The climbing roses on a vine, reaching towards our heavenly home with our dearly loved parents? Each of us deserves to be anchored securely and lovingly on the trellis of life; searching for the stars that we came from and belong to. We are magnificent in our glory as humans and as galactic starseeds. What momentous times that the rose is to be held up and exclaimed for her loveliest qualities; for she is the rose of peace.
