Not just another hobby. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. All those people . . . And not a Klingon in sight! Sunday we took in the Sci-Fi concert at Blossom with the Ganns. We were greeted by a phalanx of folks dressed up as various Star Wars characters, who were part of a non-profit fundraising group. But, alas, despite the presence of George Takei narrating two selections, Star Fleet was in abstenia. There were no Vulcans, Ferengi or Cardasians to be found. The music was, as always, superb. Thursday, July 08, 2010. 4th of July cake. No need to adjust your computer monitors - the batter turned out turquoise and dark pink - not quite the blue and red I was going for. I'm so used to dealing with cookie batter - that I momentarily freaked out when I saw how runny and liquidy the cake batter was. I love my Pampered Chef cake pans. Sunday, August 28, 2011. Best Things About Maternity Leave. Waking up in the middle of the night to tend to a fussy baby is much more palatable knowing I can snooze during the day to catch up on missed sleep. Wearing pajamas until 7:00pm. Why even bother changing out of pajamas at 7:00pm? Because that’s when we take the girls out for a walk and I’ve seen enough episodes of What Not To Wear to know better than to leave my house in pjs. Catching up on 2 seasons of Supernatural. Quality time with my folks.
