London HO Racing Club: Best attended meet ever as HRH marks 60 years!
http://lhorc.blogspot.com/2012/06/best-attended-meet-ever-as-hrh-marks-60.html
London HO Racing Club. Bringing Micro Slotcar racing to the capital! Tuesday, June 05, 2012. Best attended meet ever as HRH marks 60 years! To think we were worried that our hosting the penultimate round of the national 2011/12 season would be a bust, coming as it did on a giant bank holiday to mark the Queen's Jubilee. In the end 20 people raced, making it the most people to attend a LHORC meeting to date. So 20 is how many 'members' we have slowracer, to answer your question! National Slot Car Club.

London HO Racing Club: BSCRA Affiliation
http://lhorc.blogspot.com/2007/03/bscra-affiliation.html
London HO Racing Club. Bringing Micro Slotcar racing to the capital! Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Today LHORC applied for Affiliation to the British Slot Car Racing Association. Already has a good standing with several people within that organisation and it seemed only fair whilst building on that (or trying to) to stump up a little money! We will also be working with HOSS on a display at this. Event - please come along if you can. National Slot Car Club. View my complete profile.

My Scalextric: October 2014
http://myscalextric.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, 5 October 2014. Pro Karts - finally in the right scale! Back at the Slot Car Festival in May, I bought a couple of pro kart kits from Steve Ward at Penelope Pitlane. Go Karts have been available for slot car circuits for fifty years but never in the correct 1/32 scale. Steve Ward has managed this with a tiny motor driving the rear wheels with a belt rather than usual cogs. The kit comes complete with everything needed except paint and decals. Here's how they turned out:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My Scalextric: Twins?
http://myscalextric.blogspot.com/2015/06/twins.html
Friday, 12 June 2015. I checked my Facebook feed when I got home tonight and spotted a posting by Scalextric of a layout they were excited about. I started watching the video and it was immediately familiar! It was my design but not my track, and watching it was quite a strange feeling. All was revealed in the comments where the owner of the track (another James) had credited Highwood Circuit as his inspiration. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friday, 24 July 2015. I haven't posted for a bit so thought I'd share this colourful photo from Andy's painting table. A collection of figures bought at the Slot Car Festival and repainted by Andy. My Scalextric: March 2015
http://myscalextric.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 22 March 2015. I caught up with Stuart yesterday for the first time since his 40th birthday, so I can finally blog about the car I personalised for him. The basic kit is a Mazda 787B from MrSlotCar in Canada, and comes with all the various parts loose. The first step was to spray the kit with a gloss white, and to design a set of decals. I found an image of decals for the car but then modified them to personalise it to Stuart and his hobbies. Sunday, 15 March 2015. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My Scalextric: December 2014
http://myscalextric.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 December 2014. This trio of nurses make a small but colourful addition to the layout. The figures were manufactured over thirty years ago (1983) by Britain. And they are in excellent condition. Bought from an eBay seller in Italy for a fraction of what UK sellers want for them. Thursday, 11 December 2014. This is unusual. a pop music video. That is a part-documentary of the lives of slot car racers in Los Angeles. Interesting though and the tune isn't too bad either. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
