Friday, August 7, 2015. End of the Season Blues. The field season was a good one, though I still prefer songbirds. Sage-grouse rock it, but the actual field work isn't quite as thrilling. Lots of driving, not enough wandering. I was pumped to do veg work this season because it actually meant I'd get to hike a few miles. Whaaatt? Bird people, you know what I mean. A Life Inspired by Nature. Tuesday, February 4, 2014. You really can't deny that a snow covered landscape is a pretty transformation. Snow gives the woods bold black and white patterns, softens hard edges, and makes everything quiet and peaceful. As it snows, the weather isn't that cold, and I enjoy little strolls through the woods and down the hill listening to my boots crunch/thump compacting the snow and leaving windy trails. Highlights gentle twig framework. Beauty grows with peace. I sit and listen.

A Life Inspired by Nature. Sunday, February 1, 2015. Let's go for a Walk (part 2). Continuing our walk from last week. From the pond, we follow the Little Dry Creek (a perennial stream flowing with rains and winter snows) through bushy junipers to the property corner. You must be careful as you jump across the icy rocks, but the dogs have no problem! Thanks for going on a walk with us. We'll head out again tomorrow around the same time. We were all stuffed and now with leftovers I won't be cooking until Monday:). Much to be thankful for during this time of the year:. Who works his butt off at both his job and at our house (he's working through the weekend to make some extra $ and missing out on football and leftovers).
