Sunderland Point from Middleton. Sunderland Point from Middleton. Approx. 5 miles. Approx. 2 hours. Middleton village ( StreetView. Starting in Middleton, following the footpath to The Globe. At low tide you can follow the road over the sands. Take the footpath across to the westerly shore and then follow the beach and marshes until you reach a path rising up onto the land above. Take this path until it comes out onto the road and then follow the road back to Middleton. 7th Dec, 10:30pm. 5th May, 2:05pm.

Sunday, 15 November 2009. Several weeks of rain finally gave way to a glorious November day, though we caught the last of the morning drizzle as we made the trip to Whitbarrow. Having found a little bit of shelter from the wind, we stopped to grab a bite to eat before making our way back across the top of the hill.
